PlayStation Plus subscribers should brace themselves as the Extra tier of the service is set to lose some heavy hitters in the very near future. The Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus are updated on a regular basis. New games are added to PS Plus Extra and Premium every month, but some games are removed from those tiers every month as well.
The next day that PS Plus subscribers will have to say goodbye to some of the service’s games is on Tuesday, October 20. On that day, PS Plus Extra and Premium will be updated so that a handful of new games are available, but a selection of titles will also be getting the boot. Among the titles leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on October 20 are Death Squared, Gloomhaven, Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Lake, and Rogue Lords, along with two games that are going to be especially depressing to see go.
List of PS Plus Games Leaving Soon
- Death Squared
- Gloomhaven
- Harvest Moon: Light of Hope
- Jurassic World Evolution 2
- Lake
- Rogue Lords
- Silent Hill 2 (2024)
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon
On Tuesday, October 20, PS Plus Extra will be losing the Silent Hill 2 remake and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The Silent Hill 2 remake was developed by Bloober Team and earned acclaim at the time of its release, securing multiple nominations at The Game Awards that year. Silent Hill 2 even netted itself numerous perfect scores. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a similar story. The Sega turn-based RPG was critically-acclaimed, earned prestigious awards, and achieved 10/10 scores from multiple outlets.

The Silent Hill 2 remake’s departure from PS Plus may be especially disappointing considering what month it is. We are in the midst of the spooky season, and it stands to reason that there are PS Plus subscribers that would want to play Silent Hill 2 to celebrate Halloween. Unfortunately for those individuals, time is running out to play Silent Hill 2, but if they are really determined, they could probably get at least one of the game’s endings before it’s removed from the lineup.
Unfortunately, there almost certainly isn’t enough time for PS Plus subscribers to finish Yakuza: Like a Dragon before it’s removed from PS Plus. Like most turn-based RPGs, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a little on the longer side, with most average playthroughs taking nearly 50 hours to complete. However, PS Plus subscribers could use the time between now and the game’s removal on October 20 to at least try before they buy.
While it’s sad to see Silent Hill 2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and all the other games leaving on October 20 get removed from PS Plus, the good news is that some new games will be added that day as well. As part of the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for October 2026 lineup, Horizon Forbidden West, Mycopunk, and Mafia: The Old Country are all being added to the service.
