PlayStation Plus subscribers should make note of the games that are set to leave in September, as there is still time to play them for anyone interested. The Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus offer players a rotating library of games. Every month, new games are added to the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus, but a handful of games are removed every month as well.

Just recently, PS Plus said goodbye to nine games, with Dead Island 2 and Unicorn Overlord two of the bigger games to leave the service in August. The next update to the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus is scheduled for September 15, and on that day, subscribers will be losing access to another seven games, including two Premium-only titles.

List of PS Plus Games Leaving in September 2026

  • Madden NFL 26
  • Persona 5 Tactica
  • Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Director’s Cut
  • Shadowrun: Hong Kong – Extended Edition
  • Shadowrun Returns
  • Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue
  • Toy Story 3

The Extra tier games leaving PS Plus in September 2026 are Madden NFL 26, Persona 5 Tactica, Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Director’s Cut, Shadowrun: Hong Kong – Extended Edition, and Shadowrun Returns. Madden NFL 26 is last year’s entry in EA’s long-running football franchise, while Persona 5 Tactica is a tactics-based spin-off of Persona 5. The Shadowrun games are also turn-based tactics games. That same day, the PS Plus Premium tier will be losing Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue and Toy Story 3.

A handful of PS Plus Extra games are removed every month, but it’s rare for Premium-tier games to be removed from PS Plus. That’s exactly what’s happening with the classic Toy Story games, but there’s a probable explanation. Classic Toy Story games are being re-released on October 15 in the form of Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3: Complete Edition. Retro Roundup includes Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, as well as the original Toy Story game, Toy Story 2 on Game Boy Color, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Toy Story Racer, and A Bug’s Life, while Toy Story 3: Complete Edition will bring a native version of that game to modern platforms. Since these games are being re-released, it makes sense to pull the existing versions from services like PS Plus, as it may discourage people from buying the new releases.

The good news is that there is still plenty of time between now and September 15, so PS Plus subscribers should be able to play through these classic Toy Story games before they’re removed. PS Plus subscribers also have some new additions to look forward to in the near future as well, with a fresh batch of free games hitting the Essential tier on September 1, and new games coming to the Extra and Premium tiers later in September.

What those games are remain to be seen for the most part, but we do know that Runescape: Dragonwilds is coming to PS Plus Extra on September 15. What will join it has yet to be seen, but more information will come in the weeks ahead.
