PS Plus Monthly Game Announcement for July 15 Confirmed Ahead of Time

PS Plus Monthly Game Announcement for July 15 Confirmed Ahead of Time

Befitting its typical, alternating Tuesday and Wednesday reveal-release pattern, the July 2026 PS Plus games on the Extra and Premium tiers will be announced on July 15 at 8:30 AM PT/11:30 AM ET. The PS Plus Extra and Premium games for June 2026 had a new release schedule but were announced at the same time, so no changes are expected for the July 15 announcement—one of which PS Plus subscribers already know.

Of course, it’s worth mentioning that the PS Plus free games for July 2026 are available now. Until August 4, subscribers are able to claim the turn-based roguelike RPG For The King 2, the retro-inspired 2D action RPG CrossCode, and the headlining first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The Wednesday after their addition always sees the announcement of the PS Plus Extra and Premium games, which are usually added on the following Tuesday. It’s uncertain, after PS Plus’ experimental half-month-long Extra/Premium rollout in June 2026, whether the July games will be added on Tuesday or not, but subscribers do already know what one of those announcements will be.

At the State of Play (and other events), PlayStation gave subscribers a look at a handful of PS Plus games coming through September 2026, including day-one Essential games, Extra games, and Premium games. The PS Plus Extra and Premium games will be announced on July 15, but “announced” is a strong word for the Premium tier because subscribers already know the July 2026 game is Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. PS Plus never adds more than one Premium game, so no further announcements are expected.

For those unfamiliar, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is a third-person action game with physics-driven psychic powers. Players control Nick Scryer, a government operative who wakes up with no memory before discovering powerful telekinesis, mind control, pyrokinesis, and other supernatural abilities. As such, players are encouraged and rewarded for throwing enemies into walls, hurling explosives across rooms, possessing opponents, and solving environmental puzzles with psychic abilities. Even now, it’s considered one of the more creative action games of the PS2 and Xbox Era, and it still holds up today. In other words, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy on PS Plus Premium is a treat.

    • Original release: June 14, 2004 (North America)
    • Original platforms: PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC
    • Developer: Midway Games (Midway Studios Los Angeles)
    • Publisher: Midway Games
    • Genre: Third-person action-adventure/shooter
    • How Long to Beat: 10-12 Hours

Over on Metacritic, the PS2 version of Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy holds a Generally Favorable metascore of 84 after 46 critic reviews. The Xbox version, interestingly, also has an 84 after 55 critic reviews, suggesting there’s some consistency in platform performance and critics’ thoughts. Meanwhile, the user score on Metacritic is slightly lower at 7.0, but that’s still a pretty good aggregate score. It’ll be interesting to see how it’s received as a PS Plus premium game.

What joins the PS Plus Extra catalog for July remains to be seen, but at least from now through September, PS Plus holds a pretty strong line-up. Fans should be wary of any possible PS Plus price increases, however, simply due to the quickly changing economic conditions of the industry. In other words, take advantage of PS Plus now for sure.
