PlayStation 5 gamers have been eating good this year when it comes to new game releases, and now they can look forward to checking out yet another highly-rated game. The PlayStation 5 has been a massive sales success for Sony, and with such a large install base, it’s really no surprise that the vast majority of games are released on the platform.
Most major multiplatform games have been released on PS5 in 2026, with the rare exception here and there. There have also been some PS5 console exclusives released in 2026 that have earned strong reviews, like Nioh 3. Saros is a pure PS5 exclusive that has found its way into the top 10 highest-rated games of the year so far, earning an impressive 87 overall rating. The highest-rated games list will likely change dramatically as more titles are released later this year, but one game that’s currently in the top 20 is now confirmed to be making its PS5 debut.
It’s Officially Time to Delay the Next Generation of PlayStation and Xbox Consoles
Recent news proves that the current economy cannot handle the supposed releases of the PS6 and Xbox Helix in 2027, not without a major turnaround.

Time will tell if OPUS: Prism Peak stays in the top 20 as the year goes on, but it’s off to an incredible start and should make for an exciting release for PS5 gamers.

For those unfamiliar with the game, OPUS: Prism Peak is an artsy narrative-driven game where players take on the role of a photographer traveling through a mysterious realm with an amnesiac girl. The game has earned a great deal of praise for its story and anime-inspired art style, and while it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, those that it has resonated with have sung its praises. And it’s not just professional critics that like OPUS: Prism Peak. The game’s user rating on Metacritic is an 8.2, and it has “Very Positive” reviews on Steam.
When OPUS: Prism Peak comes to PS5 later this year, it will give gamers on the platform the chance to play yet another one of 2026’s best. The two games to crack 90+ on Metacritic this year will also both be playable on PS5 if they aren’t there already. Mina the Hollower is on PS5 right now, while Forza Horizon 6 is in development for PS5 and expected to release by the end of year, though a specific date has yet to be announced.
