Rainbow Six Siege Brings Back Fan Favorite Map and Major Rework for Year 11 Season 2

Ubisoft reveals the full details for the upcoming Year 11 Season 2 launch for Rainbow Six Siege and the latest map is a direct call back to a fan-favorite game in the long-running franchise. Despite a tough end to 2025 and start to 2026 with a nasty hacking incident, Rainbow Six Siege has hit the ground running for its eleventh year. Following the end of Season 1, Ubisoft has finally revealed what players can expect to see when the latest operation drops on June 2.

Year 11 got off to a surprising start as Ubisoft brought together Konami’s legendary Metal Gear series and Rainbow Six Siege. Season 1, also known as Operation Silent Hunt, added Solid Snake to the game’s roster and the debut trailer had some fun pairing him with Ubisoft’s own master of stealth, Sam Fisher. In addition, Snake’s original voice actor, David Hayter, was brought back to bring the character to life and he comes armed with the Soliton Radar MKIII gadget to identify and tag threads and On-Site Procurement ability to refill secondary gadgets off downed enemies. With season 1 coming to an end, Operation System Override is now right around the corner.

Rainbow Six Siege Brings Back the Calypso Casino

Operation System Override was given a full reveal in front of the crowd in Salt Lake City, Utah as part of the major event taking place there over the weekend. As part of the reveal, Ubisoft confirmed the new map coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Season 2 of Year 11 will be the Calypso Casino. The level itself should be very familiar for franchise fans as it’s a reimagined take on the Calypso Casino from Rainbow Six Vegas. While the venue quickly became a fan favorite, it would later return as a multiplayer level for Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Another big piece of the upcoming Operation System Override is a rework for the attacking operator Dokkaebi. Originally added during Operation White Noise for Rainbow Six Siege in 2017, Dokkaebi was already viewed as a strong option thanks to her ability to hack the phones of opponents and nearby camera systems, giving her valuable intel on enemy locations. The remastered version of Dokkaebi evolves her Logic Bomb gadget into the Jegeo Payload. She can now target an enemy player to upload malware onto their phone, causing it to vibrate and detonate if it isn’t dealt with in time. The defender takes 40hp of damage and creates a fire that can further damage them or allies who get too close. The gadget has more charges, a faster cooldown, but a shorter duration than before.

In addition to a new Battle Pass, the season also adds the new XK23 assault rifle as a primary weapon for Dokkaebi, Sens, and Rauora. Three maps, Emerald Plains, Kanal, and Outback, are also seeing modern improvements to lighting, visuals, and more. Finally, Ubisoft has also teased new balance updates for many operators, including Gridlock’s Track Stingers getting enhancements, while Pulse, Mozzie, and Nomad’s gadgets range has been increased.

As for what’s next for Rainbow Six Siege, fans can only wonder. It doesn’t appear that the popular tactical shooter is slowing down anytime soon and, so far, Ubisoft hasn’t been afraid to crossover with various franchises, even collaborating with Attack on Titan in 2025. During the 10th anniversary of Rainbow Six Siege, creative director Alexander Karpazis and game director Joshua Mills both admitted that the series has roots in single player so it’s possible the franchise could return there to tell different stories and that it’d be a missed opportunity to only keep these operators locked up in Siege.
