Red Dead 2 Players Officially Have New Reasons to Log In for January 2026

Rockstar is no doubt hard at work on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6, with recent reports suggesting that developers are trying to wrap up content before moving into the polish phase, but other games have not gone completely ignored. GTA Online updates are consistent, while Red Dead Redemption 2‘s Online Mode has always been lackluster. In fact, Red Dead Online players held a funeral back in 2022 for it.

Having said that, Rockstar has kicked off the new year with a set of limited-time missions and rewards for Red Dead Redemption 2‘s online mode. Players will be able to claim new rewards week after week until February 2, keeping them busy until a proper Red Dead 2 next-gen update happens.

‘Still Not Content Complete’ Rockstar Devs Reportedly Not ‘100% Certain’ About GTA 6’s Release Date

A trusted industry insider shares an unofficial development update for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, and it’s not good news.

Throughout January, RDO players will be able to claim triple the RDO$, Role XP, and XP from regular bounties. They’ll be able to claim double the RDO$, Gold, and XP for Red Dead Online’s Legendary and Infamous Bounties. Beyond that, anyone who turns in a Legendary Bounty can claim Harshaw Gauntlers, while Rank 25+ Bounty Hunters who play at any point this month can claim the Clairborn Coat. There’s also the Manhunt or Day of Reckoning events in Red Dead, both of which will pay out triple the RDO$ and XP through February 2, as well as give players a special participation charm.

Red Dead Online 2026 Weekly Rewards

And Cowboy Swag…

  • January 6 – January 12: Complete 3 Bounty Missions to receive a Reward for the San Luis Shore Treasure Map
  • January 13 – January 19: Complete All Your Bounty Hunter Daily Challenges to Receive an Offer for 40% Off an Established or Distinguished Bounty Hunter Role Item
  • January 20 – January 26: Complete 3 Bounty Missions to Receive an Offer for 50% Off a Weapon
  • January 27 – February 2: Players Rank 50 or Higher Can Log In to Receive the Beige Torranca Coa

While players must complete these tasks to claim the new rewards, there are also new limited-time clothing items coming to Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalog in Red Dead over the next few weeks. This includes, but may not be limited to, the Gator Hat, Strickland Boots, Tier Pants, Irwin Coat, Clymene Coat, and Shaffer Chaps.

Overall, it’s not the most bombastic start to the year, but given how little Rockstar pays attention to RDO, something is always better than nothing. Perhaps if the next-gen upgrade for Red Dead 2 ever comes around, it’ll breathe more life into RDO, but for now, at least there’s some decent rewards to participate in this month.
