How to Use Spotter Relays in ARC Raiders PvP

ARC Raiders has a lot of hidden mechanics, and many players ignore that the Spotter Relay has a secret tactical use that can become a tremendous asset in PvP. Turns out, you can use the Spotter Relay to draw aggro from any ARC in the nearby area to enemy players.

Doing so will make ARC Enemies like Wasps, Hornets, Rocketeers, or even the Spotters and Bombardiers focus on a single target (or many if players deploy various Spotter Relays). In this guide, we will explain how to obtain Spotter Relays and how to use them for PvP purposes.

ARC Raiders: Wipe Explained (Expeditions Guide)

Every 60 Days, ARC Raiders will go through a wide server wipe, and here’s how to save your progress for your next Raider using the Expeditions.

How To Get & Use Spotter Relays in ARC Raiders

In ARC Raiders, Spotter Relays are obtained by defeating Spotters, a couple of ARC Drones that always appear around a Bombardier, and upon detecting nearby players, they will mark them with a laser and cause the nearby Bombardier to immediately target them with an ordnance barrage. Defeating Spotters is not hard, and once defeated, the Bombardier loses the majority of its tracing capabilities, but that doesn’t make it harmless.

What’s more, Spotters will constantly respawn every few minutes, granting players the chance to ‘farm them,’ by constantly destroying them and then collecting the Relays once the Bombardier is defeated.

The Spotter Relay is an item that has the ‘Recyclable’ Category, but can be equipped in an active Gear Slot and used as any Grenade. Similarly to Hornet Drivers and Wasp Drivers, they can be thrown, and they will target the nearest player upon landing on the floor. That means the players who use the Spotter Relay can be targeted as well, if they are not careful.

Using a Spotter Relay on another Raider is considered an ‘Aggressive Action’ and will contribute to the player’s PvP score, and that means they will be flagged for PvP queues in the next Matchmaking.

Spotter Relays can also be used in tandem with Snitch Scanners (which work similarly) to summon an infinite amount of Wasps and Hornets and to unleash hell on other Raiders by marking and directing the aggro towards them.

Be careful, though, as this strategy can backfire real quick, and a horde of Wasps and Hornets can easily kill a full shielded Raider, even with a Heavy Shield on.
