A creative Resident Evil Requiem fan showcased their Grace Ashcroft cosplay. Grace is one of the playable main protagonists of Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline game in the franchise, who works with Leon S. Kennedy to investigate a new infection.
Released just last February 27, 2026, Resident Evil Requiem has already reached significant milestones as the highest-rated game in the franchise and sold over 5 million copies worldwide. The survival horror follows FBI analyst Grace, who’s sent off to check out a mysterious dead body at the Wrenwood Hotel. This would trigger a series of challenges and secrets, tracing back to her mother, Resident Evil Outbreak‘s Alyssa Ashcroft’s own investigation before her untimely death, as well as the destruction of Raccoon City. Meanwhile, Leon also enters the fray to investigate the strange infection that’s potentially causing the deaths in the city of Wrenwood.

Resident Evil Requiem Fan Pulls Off Accurate Grace Ashcroft Cosplay
Resident Evil has been introducing many new protagonists in recent games, such as Ethan Winters and Rose Winters, and Grace became an instant favorite among several fans because of her story and believable reactions to the terrifying situation she’s in. It’s come to a point where comparisons between Grace and Leon’s Resident Evil Requiem gameplays have been discussed within the fanbase, with both receiving ample praise and critiques for their respective sections. Still, the love for Grace is evident with the amount of fan content coming out, including an impressive cosplay by Reddit user LadyOichi. In a post, she shared photos of herself donning a short blonde wig and wearing Grace’s dirty white shirt with a bloodied bandage wrapped around her chest. She’s also holding a lighter while walking through a dark hallway with a terrified look on her face, which perfectly sums up Grace’s experience in the game.
The Grace cosplay has drawn mixed reviews from Resident Evil Requiem fans. The comments under LadyOichi’s Reddit post consist of many netizens claiming that the cosplay was created or edited using AI. Some also expressed that they wanted to see cosplays of other Resident Evil Requiem characters. Meanwhile, the comments on the cosplayer’s Instagram posts are mostly positive, with people complimenting the accuracy of Grace’s look.
Amid praise for Grace’s character design, many Resident Evil Requiem players online have also shared their qualms about her personality and the stark difference between playing as her and as Leon. At the same time, many fans have defended Grace’s presentation in Resident Evil Requiem, pointing out that she’s not as experienced as Leon or any of the seasoned fighters from previous games, but still managed to hold her own in the story. Although it’s still way too early to tell if Grace will return in future games, it would be interesting to see how she will evolve after a few years if she decides to leave her analyst job. It would be just like watching Leon grow in every Resident Evil game he’s in, where he started out as a rookie police officer in Resident Evil 2 to a secret agent for the US government in Resident Evil 4.

It’s been over 30 years since the first Resident Evil came out, yet the success of Resident Evil Requiem is further proof of just how invested fans are in the franchise still, even with the flaws of some titles. Likewise, it’s possible that Capcom might release Resident Evil Requiem DLC down the line, so players might be able to play as Grace and Leon once more, or maybe other characters like Chris Redfield or someone from Resident Evil Outbreak, after finishing the main story.
