A mod for Resident Evil Requiem lets fans play as Emily, giving the game a different feel across both the main story and the recently released Leon Must Die Forever DLC. After the massive success of Resident Evil Requiem, the game’s director Koshi Nakanishi revealed that Capcom is working on a few DLCs for the game, including a story expansion.

Capcom very recently shadow-dropped Leon Must Die Forever, the first DLC for Resident Evil Requiem. This rogue-like mini-game lets players control Leon S. Kennedy through various sections of the main campaign, with tougher enemies and instant deaths forcing a complete restart from the beginning.

Resident Evil Requiem Confirms DLC Now In Development

Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi thanks fans for their support in a newly released video and confirms that a new DLC is in the works.

New Gameplay Mod Lets Fans Play Resident Evil Requiem as Emily Across Main Story and DLC

A Reddit user going by the username xdman9765, posted a clip on the Resident Evil Requiem subreddit where the player can be seen playing as Emily in the Leon Must Die Forever DLC. This is thanks to a mod called Replace Leon to Emily by kuroro490, which has been available for quite some time now on Nexusmods. Installing and enabling this modification will allow players to switch the character model for Leon S. Kennedy to Emily in Resident Evil Requiem.

The gameplay footage shared by kuroro490 on the subreddit shows Emily hilariously taking down zombies with the camera following behind her closely. What makes the clip even more funny is the fact that she is seen retaining all the one-liners from Leon S. Kennedy in combat, along with his moves. The mode itself features tougher enemy encounters and punishing instant-death mechanics that send players back to the very beginning after a failed run.

Fans in the comments joked about Emily surviving impossible situations “while still being blind,” while others praised the absurdity of seeing her take on Leon’s role across the campaign of Resident Evil Requiem. Several users also discussed the possibility of future updates to the mod, including animation improvements and custom voice lines for Emily using AI.

Although Nvidia’s use of AI for DLSS 5 in Resident Evil Requiem and other games was not well received by most fans, a mod adding new voice lines for Emily could be a fun way to enhance the overall quality of the modification. One commenter even suggested that adding Emily’s voice work would make the transformation “complete,” highlighting how quickly the community has embraced the unusual character swap concept.

At the end of the day, it looks like the Resident Evil Requiem subreddit is fully embracing the mod, with many users flooding the comments section to cheer on Emily. Fans appeared amused by the absurdity of watching the character survive brutal encounters and praised the creator for turning an already difficult DLC into something even more entertaining. So far, Leon Must Die Forever DLC has received some mixed reactions from many fans. However, with the story expansion on the way, fans are still eager to see what new content arrives for the game in the near future.
