A popular Fortnite leaker recently revealed that Epic Games has been recreating every Rocket League arena in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), suggesting that the two titles could experience a merger in the future. Rocket League was originally released in 2015 and is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
While Rocket League and Fortnite have largely maintained their independence from one another as games, the two have become linked in various ways. For instance, Fortnite‘s popular subscription service Fortnite Crew includes the premium version of Rocket League‘s Rocket Pass at no extra cost, encouraging gamers to try playing both titles. In recent years, Epic Games has also expanded how cars function in Fortnite, resulting in a wide variety of vehicles from Rocket League making their way into the battle royale. The two titles have also featured a lot of overlapping cosmetics, with some items purchased in Rocket League carrying over to Fortnite. Both games also feature cosmetics that pay homage to one another, allowing fans to express their appreciation for the popular titles in whatever way they see fit. Now, it seems as if the two games could be taking things a step further, with Rocket League potentially becoming another one of Fortnite‘s game modes.

Rocket League May Become Part of Fortnite
The prominent Fortnite leaker BeastFNCreative revealed that Epic Games has been recreating every Rocket League arena in UEFN, indicating that the company could be planning to merge the two titles at some point in the future. This didn’t sit well with quite a few fans, as gamers can currently play Rocket League without any connection to Fortnite. Several people said they believe that such a change could harm the game, as dedicated players may be unwilling to migrate to the battle royale. Some people questioned the logic behind the decision, as Fortnite‘s Rocket Racing mode hasn’t pulled in many players since its initial debut. This has led a portion of the community to feel that Rocket League could suffer the same fate if it’s rolled into the larger Fortnite experience.

Not everyone seems to hate the idea of the two games merging, however, as some people expressed enthusiasm about the change. One gamer suggested that recreating the arenas in UEFN could be a big visual upgrade for the 2015 title, as some of the graphics have begun to show their age. Meanwhile, another person expressed enthusiasm about potentially being able to progress through the Rocket Pass while playing Fortnite instead of playing Rocket League. While there’s no guarantee that this would be possible, it would be similar to how Fortnite‘s passes currently work. For instance, gaining levels in any mode allows players to earn rewards in the LEGO Pass, OG Pass, Music Pass, and the Battle Pass simultaneously.
Rocket League is known for its incredible physics that allow players to soar through the air with their cars, pulling off trick shots that seem impossible at first glance. Many players seem to be wondering how those physics would work within Fortnite, and if creators would gain access to them when creating their own custom maps. Right now, there appear to be a lot more questions than answers, but the community seems to be eager to know more about what Epic Games has planned.
As with all leaks, it’s worth taking this information with a grain of salt. While many leaks do come to fruition, it’s always possible for unannounced projects to have delays or be canceled completely. With so much content to enjoy and even more on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite and Rocket League.
