Rockstar Games Just Keeps Tweeting the Wrong Things

Rockstar Games Just Keeps Tweeting the Wrong Things

Rockstar Games is set to deliver what will potentially be the biggest video game launch of all time later this year, but it wants to talk about anything else. Rockstar Games is the developer and publisher of some of the most popular video games ever, with Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 massively successful and still wildly played despite being 13 and eight years old, respectively.

With GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 being two of the best-selling and highest-rated games ever made, it’s no surprise that expectations are astronomical for Grand Theft Auto 6. Rockstar Games plans to launch Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19, 2026, with parent company Take-Two’s latest earnings call indicating that the highly-anticipated game is still on track to meet its release date.

GTA 6: All Weapons Confirmed So Far

Weapons are a core part of Grand Theft Auto’s gameplay, and GTA 6 has already confirmed several weapons that will appear in the game.

Rockstar Games is Staying Quiet About GTA 6

Even though Grand Theft Auto 6 is less than six months from release, Rockstar Games has largely kept quiet about the game. There have still only been two GTA 6 trailers released to date, which has frustrated fans hungry to see more of the game in action. But even though Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed more about GTA 6, it has continued making social media posts about GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, often flooded with replies from people anxious to see more of its next game instead.

Part of the frustration with Rockstar Games not releasing more information on GTA 6 is that fans keep coming up with theories about things like the Trailer 3 release date, and then get upset when it doesn’t pan out. A recent example is May 26. GTA 6 was once said to be launching on May 26 before its release date was delayed to November 19. Fans theorized that May 26 would be the day that GTA 6 Trailer 3 finally dropped, but that didn’t happen. Instead, Rockstar Games tweeted about the latest Red Dead Online bonuses and rewards. The tweet amassed over 2,000 comments, almost all of which were people calling for GTA 6 news. Of course, it’s not fair to blame Rockstar Games when it never teased the Trailer 3 reveal date, but it’s also understandable that the complete and utter lack of news is frustrating for fans.

So then the question becomes: when will we finally get more news on GTA 6? As we get closer to its release date, information on GTA 6 will inevitably ramp up. The first two trailers were focused on cinematics and story, not gameplay, and so a full-blown gameplay reveal is likely on the way, along with a showcase of the online mode. There’s still a lot to reveal about GTA 6, and the clock is ticking to make those reveals.

Take-Two previously said that GTA 6 marketing will ramp up in the summer, so fans shouldn’t expect to see anything until June at the earliest. There are some big gaming events happening next week, like a PlayStation State of Play on June 2 and Summer Game Fest on June 5, but “summer” doesn’t officially start until June 21, so while anything is possible, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about seeing GTA 6 until some time after that point.
