Rockstar Just Made Its First Public GTA 6 Move in Ages

Rockstar Games has made a change to its official Discord and the way that Grand Theft Auto 6 is represented. While it’s a small development, it’s likely one more sign that the developer is locked in for the release and gearing up for Grand Theft Auto 6‘s arrival.

Fans of the series are more than eager for Grand Theft Auto 6 to finally arrive. The game has such incredible hype behind it that GTA 6 won the Golden Joystick and The Game Awards’ Most Anticipated Game award two years in a row, indicating that although fans have been kept waiting through delays, they’re still anxious to get their hands on the title. As a result, even small movements on Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive’s parts tend to draw attention.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Gets New Attention on Discord

It didn’t take long for fans to notice that a change had been made to the official Rockstar Games Discord. While there has been a channel for Grand Theft Auto 6 for a while now, the Discord recently moved it into its own category with the same name as the game. So far, no other significant changes have been noticed, though fans initially worried that the channel had disappeared entirely. Without checking the “Show All Channels” button, the GTA 6 channel and its new category initially weren’t visible. Given that players have been particularly anxious about GTA 6 getting delayed again, it’s not surprising that seeing the channel “disappear” made a lot of people nervous.

Unfortunately, there’s no further evidence that anything substantial is happening with the game on the Rockstar Games Discord. Given that the channel will likely get swarmed with comments when GTA 6‘s third trailer releases and/or pre-orders officially open for the game, this change may have been made in order to better manage the channel when that happens. Although there have been some leaks about the next trailer, so far, none of them have panned out. Some fans spotted GTA 6 marketing in May, but it may have been unauthorized or accidental, with the ad going up in a mall in Bangladesh.

With the summer being prime time for game trailers and new game reveals, there’s a strong chance that Rockstar Games will finally roll out something new for GTA 6 soon. However, there’s so much build-up around the game that Rockstar doesn’t really have to stick with the traditional reveal cycle to drop the third trailer or open pre-orders. Fans have been so desperate for news and searching in so many places for it that GTA 6 could do its next major reveal anytime and anywhere, and it would still likely light the internet on fire.

Of course, only time will tell if GTA 6 can live up to the hype. The multiple delays have given players more time to dream about what the game could potentially be like, and many have scrutinized the GTA 6 trailers for every detail possible, even though the footage may not necessarily be indicative of the final product. However, Rockstar Games rarely lets players down with its flagship titles, so even if a lot of fan theories are shut down, chances are it will impress most of its fans.
