A Pokemon trainer LEGO minifigure may be in the works, according to a new report from a well-known leaker. What’s more, the still-unannounced minifigure may even receive an oversized variant from LEGO.
Originally announced in March 2025, LEGO’s Pokemon collaboration has so far produced just three sets: 72151 Eevee, 72152 Pikachu and Poke Ball, and its crown jewel in the form of 72153 Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. Released in March 2026, all three products arrived as larger brick-built models with no minifigures. Nonetheless, recent reports suggest the Danish toymaker is currently working on multiple Pokemon minifigures, although the total number of 2026 sets expected to include them remains unclear.

One of LEGO’s select few Pokemon minifigures that are yet to be officially announced surfaces online in the form of a leaked photo.
LEGO Reportedly Working on Up-Scaled Pokemon Trainer Minifigure and More
According to a new report from the Brick Tap community’s leaker Chief Wiggum, one of the upcoming minifigures will be based on a Pokemon trainer. LEGO is also said to be planning an Up-Scaled variant of the same character for later in 2026. The model is reportedly in development alongside an Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus, with this year’s lineup of oversized minifigures possibly even including a Spider-Punk replica, according to the same source. The new leak does not specify a launch window, but with much of this year’s LEGO Pokemon lineup rumored to arrive in summer 2026, that timeframe appears likely for the trainer minifigure as well.
Up-Scaled Pokemon Trainer May Include a Regular-Sized LEGO Minifigure
While Chief Wiggum only mentioned the Up-Scaled variant of the trainer character, LEGO does not release such oversized models in isolation. Instead, the company typically bases its Up-Scaled designs on standard minifigures from other sets. If an Up-Scaled Pokemon trainer is indeed in development, it is therefore likely that at least one additional set featuring its regular counterpart will also launch later in 2026. That said, LEGO has recently been bundling its oversized character models with regular minifigures, as seen with sets such as 40921 Up-Scaled Blue Astronaut Minifigure and 40649 Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure. This raises the possibility that the rumored Up-Scaled Pokemon Trainer, which may not be its official name, could also launch as a similar two-in-one offering.
The Pokemon trainer model marks the second minifigure believed to have leaked from the 2026 LEGO Pokemon line. The first is an Eevee minifig that will reportedly be included in the yet-to-be-announced 72154 Poke Ball set. Designed as a giant Poke Ball that opens to reveal a smaller scene inside, the purported set is said to be priced at $259.99 and include more than 2,200 pieces. 72154 Poke Ball was previously rumored to include multiple LEGO minifigures beyond Eevee, meaning the newly leaked Pokemon trainer minifigure could also be part of the upcoming set.

Many of this year’s Pokemon offerings from LEGO are expected to debut with Smart Play support. The new toy platform centers on rechargeable bricks equipped with sensors, lights, and speakers that can react to compatible tagged surroundings. This part of the lineup is expected to see only a limited release, however, with LEGO so far announcing its Smart Play platform in just six countries: the United States, United Kingdom, France, Poland, Germany, and Australia. Assuming the next LEGO Pokemon product wave is scheduled for August, its official announcement is likely to arrive no later than June 2026.
