Slay The Spire 2 Outlines A Big Roadmap But Devs Aren’t Rushing

Slay The Spire 2 Outlines A Big Roadmap But Devs Aren’t Rushing

Hot off the heels of getting review-bombed for a second time in the space of a month, Mega Crit has just released its monthly “Neowsletter” newsletter. However, unlike most Neowsletters in recent memory, this one actually contains a lot of juicy info about Slay the Spire 2’s future, including a very rough roadmap of the game’s future content and some stats regarding a few select in-game choices.

As detailed in the April 2026 Neowsletter, Mega Crit is hard at work on finalising a bunch of new content for Slay the Spire 2, including The Bestiary (which will allow players to “view and learn about the enemies in the game”), alternate versions of Act 2 and Act 3, some new “experimental” game modes, and the new character they teased earlier this month.

That being said, don’t get too excited, as there are no specific dates for when we can expect any of said content. According to Mega Crit co-founder Casey Yano, the vague roadmap in the newsletter is vague by choice, as opting not to saddle the team with deadlines allows them to “work at a healthy pace” and also helps inspire “spontaneous experimentation.”

Yano also decided to share a handful of stats for some of the Events you can encounter in the Unknown Location nodes, like, for instance, how 12 percent of players opt to keep War Historian Repy locked in their cage after going through the trouble of pilfering the Lantern Key in Act 2.

However, the most baffling stat to me is that a whopping 63 percent of you are choosing to “Gorge” in the Room Full of Cheese event. I know there’s a certain allure to adding two of eight cards to your deck, but the Chosen Cheese relic you get when you pick the “Search” option is so ridiculously strong. Getting 1 max HP after every fight might not sound like a lot on paper, but once you’re into Act 3, it’ll likely have earned you anywhere from 20 to 30 extra max HP.

Oh, and yeah… it also turns out that 49 percent of you savages have chosen to eat the Byrdonis Egg in Act 1, opposed to adding the cute little Byrdpip to your party instead. I mean, hey, I can hardly blame you; it is 7 max HP after all.
