Sony Offloads WH-1000XM5 at Record Low, Adds Free ANC Earbuds as Bonus for Christmas

Amazon pulled off something special with this limited-time Sony bundle that runs through December 31st, pairing the flagship 1000XM5 headphones with free WF-C700N wireless earbuds for just $248 total: The bundle normally costs $519 when you add up both products separately and those earbuds alone launched at $119 which means you’re essentially getting them completely free while paying a record low price for the over-ear headphones. This deal creates the perfect opportunity to knock out multiple gifts on your list, or better yet, keep the premium headphones for yourself and gift the earbuds to someone who’d appreciate quality wireless audio.

Dual Processor Architecture

The WH-1000XM5 has two dedicated processors that work together to control eight microphones that analyze and cancel out background noise in a way that has never been done before. This dual-processor setup lets the headphones do noise cancellation and audio processing at the same time, so you get the best ANC performance without losing sound quality or draining the battery faster. The eight-microphone array picks up noise from the environment from several directions at once. This lets the system adjust to changes in real time, like airplane engines, traffic patterns, or office conversations.

This microphone setup directly improves call quality by using multiple mics to separate your voice from background noise during phone calls or video meetings. The system uses beamforming technology to focus on picking up sound from your mouth and blocking out sound from other directions and you can answer calls in noisy places like busy streets or crowded cafes without making the person on the other end have to strain to hear you over the noise.

The new 30mm drivers completely change the audio quality by giving it a wider frequency response and more accurate sound reproduction across the whole sonic spectrum. The drivers work with DSEE Extreme processing, which intelligently restores detail lost during compression to make compressed digital music files sound almost like high-resolution quality. Because they support high-resolution audio, the headphones can play back lossless music files from services like Apple Music, Tidal, or Qobuz at their full fidelity when connected with the included cable.

With Active Noise Cancellation turned on, the battery lasts for 30 hours and it is enough time for several long flights or weeks of casual listening between charges. Quick charging gives you three hours of playback time from just three minutes of charging. This means that even short charging sessions during coffee breaks or lunch are enough to get you through the day.

The free WF-C700N earbuds are a great addition to the over-ear headphones because they let you listen to music without noise when you don’t want to carry the bigger headphones. These truly wireless earbuds have their own active noise cancellation system that keeps you from getting distracted while you’re driving, working out, or running quick errands around town. The ergonomic design puts comfort first by being lightweight and fitting securely so that it stays in place while you move.

You’re saving $271 by getting both products for $248 instead of $519 because you’re getting Sony’s best noise-canceling technology in two different shapes. The WH-1000XM5 alone usually costs $399, so this bundle price means you get the earbuds for free and the headphones for $150 off. There is no other deal right now that combines great over-ear headphones with free truly wireless earbuds at this price point.
