Splatoon Raiders Needs A Retry Button

Splatoon Raiders is really fun. I like that there are a lot of different mission types of varying lengths, with some that take closer to ten minutes as you fill up a meter by killing lots of enemies, and some that are only 1-4 minutes long. These shorter missions are often obstacle courses or multi-stage fights with several waves of enemies you have to beat within a very short time frame.

Sometimes when I’m playing Splatoon Raiders, I do not play the video game very well and find myself in a tight spot I know I’m not getting out of. Maybe I’ve just been told there’s 10 seconds left and I still only have about 50 percent of the eggs collected. Maybe I’m trying to outrun some snipers within a time limit and am nowhere near them during the final seconds. When these things happen, it would be nice to simply pause the game, open the menu, and hit a “Retry” button that would let me start over from the beginning.

You know where this is going. Splatoon Raiders doesn’t have that!

Instead, you either have to fail the mission or quit out of it, go to the rewards screen (where you are getting barely any rewards, because you failed), walk back over to the place where you start missions from, select the mission again, and watch the cutscene again before you’re plopped back in.

I know, this doesn’t sound so bad. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not. It barely takes any time to do all that. Also, I kind of understand why Splatoon Raiders is set up this way: because you can still get some rewards for a failed mission, and the game wants to make sure you actually get them and they don’t vanish into the ocean or something.

But come on! What if hitting “Retry” just opened up a menu real quick where I could see my rewards, change my loadout if I wanted, then jump right in? That’d be fine, right? Come on, Nintendo!

Or if not for the entire game, at the absolute least please implement this for Awlmun Den. I am. So tired. Thanks.
