Derek’s love of games came at an early age when his parents first brought home the Nintendo Entertainment System. From then on, countless nights were spent hunting ducks, stomping turtles, exploring far off planets, and combing through dungeons with a trusty sword and shield. Originally growing up exclusively with Nintendo products, Derek’s perspective grew to include other platforms ranging from Sony, to Microsoft, the PC, and more. As his views and opinions grew, so did the desire to connect with other players and video game fans. In 2011, his writing adventure began on his personal blog, eventually joining up with the GameRant crew in 2015. He currently covers everything from features and guides, to the latest breaking video game news.

A new update has arrived for Splatoon Raiders, with Version 1.1.1 addressing numerous issues in the game, including changing how the Tank Limiter works based on tons of player feedback. When it was first announced, Splatoon Raiders served as a sort of surprise to longtime fans, focusing purely on a campaign rather than the franchise’s multiplayer-first style.

However, that gamble Nintendo took on this spin-off has proven to be a good choice as Splatoon Raiders has become a big success. Not only is it one of the highest-rated games on Metacritic of all time, Splatoon Raiders was also able to rocket up the UK sales charts just 2 days after launching, overtaking other recent and popular titles, including the former #1 spot holder in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Despite all the success that the game has seen already, there are some issues with it that Nintendo has been working to clear up, with the latest patch now available for download.

Having trouble with what to do after finishing the story in Splatoon Raiders? This guide has everything you need to know.

The major piece of the August 6 update for Splatoon Raiders is with the Tank Limiter. As players level up and aquire skill books, they can put points into 4 major stats of their tank, increasing weapon and gadget damage, allowing for additional part slots, or expanding the health bar. After a certain number of tank upgrades in Splatoon Raiders, players will fill the limiter release valve to increase the level cap and allow for more points to be spent.

Unlike most other menu options in the game requiring a simple press, players had to hold down the A button to activate it, which led to a ton of confusion and even forced Nintendo’s Japanese Support page to add a note explaining how to use the mechanic. With the August 6 update, the button press mechanic has been removed entirely, switched to a simple button press to hopefully end all of the player reports and confusion.
