Fortnite and Star Wars have once again joined forces for May the Fourth, and this year’s event features new character skins and three official Creative maps. Fortnite has collaborated with hundreds of well-known franchises and brands over the years, but Disney IPs are the most prominent. Over the years, players have seen hundreds of characters from Disney classics, movies, and shows make it onto Fortnite as cosmetics due to Item Shop collaborations or full-blown crossover events, including fan-favorites, such as Star Wars.
Fortnite has been celebrating May the Fourth in-game since 2022. The past three years were particularly exciting, as they featured a Star Wars mini-pass and two LEGO Passes, giving players the opportunity to unlock pages upon pages of themed cosmetics. When downtime began for v40.30 on April 30, players were excited to check out all the leaks, as they were sure it would feature plenty of Star Wars content, seeing as May the Fourth was coming up.

Epic Games wants to gradually release the content throughout the month of May, so fans always have something to look forward to. As players can see from analyzing the Fortnite x Star Wars event roadmap, the month started off busy, but gamers will have to wait for the next update, on May 14, to receive the next batch of Star Wars goodies.
The next update will focus on LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian Grogu. For now, gamers can check out the Star Wars skins in the Item Shop, which includes the new Clone Wars bundle and the returning Captain Phasma. They will also want to make sure that they claim their free Carbonite Fish Stick back bling by connecting their Epic Games account to a MyDisney account.

Besides this, they should check out the Star Wars Creative islands in Fortnite as well. Each island consists of a completely different genre of game, but they are all Star Wars-inspired. Galactic Siege provides a PvP experience, where players have to pick a class, make their own lightsaber, and try to become the best in battle for exclusive rewards. Those who enjoy escape rooms Creative maps and suspense-filled horror games should give Escape Vader a try. Their goal is to find all power cells in order to grab an artifact and make an escape before Darth Vader finds them. Tycoon fans will love the Droid Tycoon, which challenges them to run their own workshop and collect all available droids. Unfortunately, this year, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of Star Wars content in Battle Royale, but thankfully, there is still a lot to explore.
