Thanks to Lenovo, Steam users can take advantage of a limited-supply one-day deal to grab one of the best and most unique games on Steam completely free of charge, Before Your Eyes. When it comes to reviews, the volume of user reviews matters as much as the percentage; games do not usually have both really high. This game manages that, coming in with a 98% Overwhelmingly Positive reception after 15,000 user reviews.
While this upcoming free game giveaway is hosted by Lenovo’s Legion Gaming Community, it’s not the only one. On August 19, Steam users can get Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 1 for free, as long as they claim it before Lenovo runs out of Steam keys. Legion gaming giveaways work on a “go till out” basis, meaning that there are no time limits or restrictions other than however many keys Lenovo has on hand. These will run out quickly, so Steam users looking for a new free game to play should be sure to mark their calendars and snag Before Your Eyes right up from Lenovo.

For those unfamiliar, Before Your Eyes is a narrative adventure title built around one of the strangest mechanics in a game: blinking. A webcam is required to play Before Your Eyes. Players take on the role of a recently deceased soul being guided through memories of their life, with the webcam tracking when they blink and using those moments to move the story forward. In other words, when players close their eyes, they leave behind the memories they see as they die—memories of childhood, family, ambition, regret, love, loss, pain. It is a short game on Steam, but obviously it has stayed with many, especially for those who struggle to hang on.
Scratch & Peek

possible.
Despite its short runtime (which many gamers often have issues with), Before Your Eyes sits at a 98% Overwhelmingly Positive reception on Steam after 15,000 user reviews. That’s wildly impressive. The story, characters, music, art, interactive storytelling approach—you name it, players loved it. Before Your Eyes has definitely earned its reputation as one of those short narrative games that can leave a pretty big emotional impact after only a few hours.
Those interested should be sure to follow the directions above and be ready to snag the Key for this narrative game as soon as it goes live. It is not expected that these Steam Keys will be widely available for long. Logging in beforehand would be best practice.
If someone can’t get it for free, then it’s worth mentioning that Before Your Eyes is only $10 on Steam. The reviews alone make it clear that it’s worth its asking price, not to mention (again) the unique blinking mechanic.
