Steam is Celebrating Valentine’s Day With Its PvP Fest

Steam is Celebrating Valentine’s Day With Its PvP Fest

Throughout the year, Steam has some of the best sales in the industry, and Valentine’s Day is getting a double dose of gaming with great discounts and a spotlight on great free-to-play titles with the platform’s PvP Fest. Steam sales usually bring major price cuts, and this Valentine’s Day celebration is no different. As the name suggests, PvP Fest puts some of the past decade’s best PvP titles front and center.

Whether one has been waiting for a fighting game on their wishlist to go on sale or someone is searching for a new free-to-play game, PvP Fest has it covered. This PvP Valentine’s extravaganza is bringing forth some of the best Steam deals that the platform has seen so far this year. Between AAA heavy-hitters and beloved indies, Steam’s PvP Fest sale boasts something for nearly every kind of gamer.

A Non-FromSoftware Soulslike is Blowing Up on Steam

A Soulslike game not made by FromSoftware quickly gains traction on Steam, setting a new player count record for the series mere days after release.

Steam’s PvP Fest Features Some Great Discounts Ahead of Valentine’s Day

PvP Fest features a fun blend of some of the best fighting games, FPS shooters, and survival games in the industry. Mortal Kombat 1 gets one of the biggest price cuts of the bunch with a whopping 80% discount. One of the few major titles featured in PvP Fest that doesn’t get a 50% or higher price cut is Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. This is probably because the game is only a few months old, since it was launched back in October. However, 35% off just a few months after its release is still a really solid discount for such a new game. The majority of the biggest games that are part of the sale are under $30, which is an incredible deal. If more than 50% off isn’t good enough of a deal, though, there are also plenty of free-to-play titles that help round out the PvP Fest lineup.

Steam’s PvP Fest Celebrates Some of the Best Free-to-Play Titles in Gaming

Classics like Overwatch, Dota 2, Destiny 2, and Apex Legends are go-to free-to-play PvP games for many. There are a lot of newer titles that many PvP fans may have yet to check out, though. Arena Breakout: Infinite‘s new season offers a solid amount of fresh content, like a snow biome, new map, and new modes. Also, Delta Force has proven to be a strong free-to-play alternative to the Battlefield franchise. Some of the biggest PvP games of the past few years have definitely been Marvel Rivals and The Finals. The latter’s player count may have fallen some since its hype-filled launch, but it still has a solid following. Marvel Rivals takes Overwatch‘s hero shooter formula and gives it a Marvel Comics twist that has proven to be one of the best takes on the genre yet.

Steam’s PvP Fest ends on February 16.

Love Is In the Air, But So Are Great Game Deals

So, whether it’s an iconic franchise entry like Mortal Kombat 1 or a fast-paced free-to-play game like Marvel Rivals, Steam’s new sale brings PvP front and center. Between price cuts that are over half off and plenty of free titles, this Valentine’s Day weekend has no shortage of games to pick from.
