PC gamers looking for something new to play this weekend, without paying out of pocket for it, need look no further than the latest Steam Free Weekend promotion. Right now, Steam’s Free Weekend Promotion is letting players check out two big games completely free of charge until November 9 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET. Gamers should be sure to dive in and enjoy them before they expire and are removed from the promotion.
For those unfamiliar, Steam’s Free Weekend promotion turns paid games into free-to-play games within a specific timeframe, with the current offering being available now until November 9. Players have as much access as they could want until that point in time, but they’ll need to purchase the game to keep playing beyond that point. As unfortunate as it would be to lose access to a game someone is really enjoying, it’s worth highlighting that these games have a discount should someone choose to completely pick it up.
Steam Free Weekend Games (November 5-November 9)
Available now, the Steam Free Weekend games for this weekend are Payday 3 and Age of Wonders 4. Those looking for something else should also note that there’s more on offer, listed later in this article. For those curious about the above games, additional details (including links to the games) are available below.
Steam Free Weekend: Payday 3
Payday 3 is a co-op first-person shooter where players team up to pull off bank robberies and other major heists. Set primarily in New York City, the game follows the returning Payday Gang as they take on increasingly dangerous jobs, with up to four players working together to steal valuables and escape with their loot. Players can approach each robbery in different ways, whether that means carefully avoiding security and completing objectives without being noticed or going in guns blazing and fighting off waves of police. Like Payday 2, the biggest attraction is working with friends to plan and execute robberies, especially when things don’t go according to plan.

This turn-based strategy game on Steam puts a major emphasis on customization, allowing players to create their own civilizations with different races, cultures, and magical abilities. From there, the focus shifts to expanding territory, gathering resources, researching new technologies, diplomacy, and/or warfare. Battles play out on tactical maps where players control their armies directly, while the Tome of Magic system unlocks powerful upgrades. With plenty of ways to build an empire and multiple paths to victory, Age of Wonders 4 offers a different experience with each new campaign.

What Else is Free on Steam This Weekend?
It’s also worth mentioning that Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion currently has one offering, although it is not as impressive as these other games or what the promotion typically offers. It’s not unusual for full games to be given away on this promotion, which is slightly different from Steam’s Free Weekend. Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion makes games free to download and keep forever as long as they claim within a similar window, but this weekend there’s only one offering: the Classic American Hunter DLC Pack for anyone playing the new release of Hunting Simulator 3.
It’s possible more Steam Free-to-Keep games are revealed in the coming days, but it’s unlikely to be this weekend. Steam users should also be aware that the promotion will be giving away free DLC for World of Warships in December 2026, although that’s the only beyond the current timeframe currently confirmed.
