Again, it bears repeating that this is a “until supplies run out” deal, and users will want to queue up on Wednesday, August 19, ahead of the 10 am PT/1 pm ET release window. There’s no doubt many folks will already have this game since it is from 2012, but for those who don’t, it is a good introduction to the style of upcoming games like The Wolf Among Us Remastered and The Wolf Among Us 2.

It was released during the Telltale/choice-driven narrative game boom of the early 2010s, resulting in several more seasons that follow the young girl Clementine and her life during a zombie apocalypse. In Season 1, which is what Lenovo is giving away, players actually step into the role of Lee Everett, a convicted criminal who must protect and help Clementine survive. For those who have already played or are not necessarily into games like The Walking Dead, it’s worth noting that Lenovo has already confirmed a second game giveaway for September 2: Before Your Eyes. This free game is unique in that players interact with a first-person narrative adventure through a unique form of controller: real-life blinks. IF fans are interested in it, they should mark their calendar for September 2 alongside August 19.
As GameRant wrote in our review of The Walking Dead Season 1, Episode 1, “By the time The Walking Dead: Episode One is over, players will likely be left wanting more – and that’s a good thing. It’s the same feeling you should get by the end of an episode on the TV show.” At the very least, those who play in 2026 for the first time won’t have to worry about waiting between epsiodes.
