PC gamers on Steam can expand their digital libraries by claiming the latest batch of free games. The Steam free game giveaways have been absolutely relentless this year, with something new to claim on a regular basis. There has almost always been something for Steam users to claim for free this year, and it doesn’t look like the giveaways are letting up any time soon.
Unlike the Epic Games Store, which gives away free games on a strict weekly schedule, Steam giveaways are completely random and unpredictable. The Steam free game giveaways can vary wildly in length, and are all dependent on the developer or publisher that is giving them away. This makes it a little more difficult for Steam users to find free games sometimes, but if they know where to look, they can dramatically grow their library with free games alone.
How to Check When You Bought a Game on Steam
Here’s how players can see the exact date they purchased a game on Steam and how much it cost.
List of Current Free Steam Games
Right now, there are three free games currently available on Steam. 3D rolling ball game Winexy is free on Steam until June 5 at 12:00pm CST, while 2D action-platformer Gravity Circuit is free on Steam until June 14 at the same time. Finally, Tell Me Why is free on Steam until July 1 at 12:00pm CST. The three games represent significantly different genres and styles, but since they all cost $0.00 for a limited time, there’s no harm in claiming them all and trying them, even if they aren’t something you would normally vibe with.

Winexy, for example, is a ball rolling game, which is a pretty niche genre that doesn’t really have widespread appeal. Still, there are many gamers out there that enjoy these kinds of games, and so if you are someone that has never given this kind of game a shot, Winexy being 100% free on Steam is a great opportunity. Gravity Circuit, meanwhile, may be overlooked because of its more retro-style graphics, but that would be a mistake. The most critically-acclaimed free Steam game currently available, Gravity Circuit has an 86 rating on review aggregate site OpenCritic, so all Steam users should be sure to grab it while it’s still free.
Tell Me Why is a narrative-driven, episodic adventure game similar to Life is Strange that deals with some heavy themes and is notable for being the first mainstream game to feature a transgender person as a main playable character. Tell Me Why is traditionally given away for free every Pride Month, and so if you miss out on claiming it this month, chances are that you will have another chance next year.

As usual, PC gamers willing to use other storefronts can claim even more freebies besides just what’s on offer through Steam. The current Epic Games Store free games are Calico and Lonestar, which are free until June 4 at 10:00am CST. They will be replaced by a new pair of mystery games, set to be revealed on June 4 at the same time. Between Steam and the Epic Games Store, PC gamers should have plenty of free games to claim this week.
