The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has been incredibly popular since it released in 2025, despite apparent player retention and sales issues, and now a handful of lucky Steam users have a chance to get it for just $1. However, it’s worth noting that this is a chance, essentially a raffle, and there is no guarantee that any individual will be among those to get Oblivion Remastered so cheaply.

The timing of this limited deal is obviously notable. Xbox recently underwent a severe restructuring that saw layoffs at Bethesda Game Studios, while Xbox itself wants to speed up the production of The Elder Scrolls 6 and more Fallout games. Obsidian Entertainment is reportedly now working on a new Fallout game, as a result of all this, even if this situation is largely a monkey’s paw. That said, it’s unclear and unlikely there’s any connection between this Fanatical deal and the layoffs at Xbox.

Get a Shot at Oblivion Remastered for just $1

Bethesda’s remaster of the best Elder Scrolls game is one of the latest AAA additions to Fanatical’s Mystery Egg Bundle, which lets players buy an array of Steam keys for just $1 (or less, as there are deepening discounts that can reduce the price per key to as low as 67 cents per key when buying bundles of 25 Steam Keys). Every purchase includes random Steam keys and other perks, meaning there’s a chance, but it’s never a guarantee that someone gets a game they want. There is always a new game though, with buyers mostly receiving smaller indie games from Steam. No one should spend money they can’t risk losing and/or find themselves likely to be severely, severely disappointed by a small indie game. It’s worth noting that “Very Positive” is the average Steam rating among all included games.

Every week, too, the Fanatical Mystery Egg bundle is updated with new additions. Doom: The Dark Ages, Far Far West, Invincible Vs, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – Digital Deluxe Edition, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Deluxe Edition have all been mainstays in the bundle, but the latest update added Oblivion Remastered keys to the equation, confirmed Crismon Desert Digital Deluxe Edition was in the mix, and also added 50 more Steam keys for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight – Deluxe Edition.

The bundle starts at $1 for a single mystery Steam key, with buyers also able to purchase packs of 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 keys. The larger bundles reduce the average cost per key to roughly $0.66, but they don’t improve the odds of receiving any particular game. Every reward is assigned randomly, meaning one buyer could walk away with Oblivion Remastered, while another may receive a much smaller indie title instead. That’s simply the nature of the promotion.

Redeeming the cheap Steam games is straightforward. Steam users can manually activate the supplied key through Steam’s “Activate a Product” menu, or they can link an eligible Steam account to Fanatical for quicker redemption. Linking also makes future purchases easier, though Steam accounts must have previously spent at least $5 before they qualify for direct redemption through the service.
