Steam users can grab LivingBattle, a 2025 open-world game from indie developer LivingEveryday, free of charge right now. The game is currently available as part of Steam’s Free to Keep promotion. It will return to its full $15.99 price tag on May 12, meaning interested gamers only have a few days to add the game to their Steam libraries.
There is usually at least one title available on Steam’s Free to Keep promotion. Unlike the Epic Games Store, where weekly giveaways are advertised as a selling point of the platform, Steam offerings aren’t quite as set in stone, so it’s never clear when the next one is going to happen, but those who frequently check will tend to find something available to grab for free. Steam’s free game giveaways are often smaller indie titles that gamers may not necessarily be aware of. This creates the potential for some hidden gems, which is why Steam users should always take advantage of Free to Keep promotions whenever they’re available.
Steam Controller: What You Get For $99
Valve’s Steam Controller is now available for $99, and here are its main features and what players get for that price.
LivingBattle is Free on Steam
Steam users can pick up LivingEveryday’s LivingBattle for free right now, an open-world racing game with first and third-person shooter elements released last year. The game takes place in a sandy environment, and features missions to complete which players can traverse to using cars and motorbikes. The main objective is simply to complete all the missions as quickly as possible. The roads are filled with other vehicles to avoid, offering an extra challenge while trying to navigate LivingBattle‘s open-world. On Steam, the game has a few user-defined tags that might paint a picture of what the game is all about, including “Open World,” “Racing,” and perhaps more of a joke tag, “Psychological Horror.”

This Free to Keep promotion won’t be available for long, so gamers will need to act fast to add LivingBattle to their Steam libraries. The giveaway will expire on May 12, after which it will return to $15.99. Those who do miss out will likely not face a long wait for it to become discounted again. Since its release in March 2025, the game has fallen as low as $0.79 multiple times, so seeing it go on sale again soon would not be a massive shock. Over the last month, two of LivingEveryday’s other titles have been available as part of a free Steam game giveaway, and LivingBattle is just the latest.
There are not many reviews for LivingBattle on Steam, but those that do paint a mixed picture. One negative review claims that the game has “no stakes whatsoever,” describing it as “absolutely unacceptable” at full price. A more charitable review says that the foundation of a solid game exists within LivingBattle, and “you can almost see the great game hiding underneath the chaos.” While recommending the game at full price feels difficult given the reviews, that’s not to say that it isn’t worth a chance when part of the Steam Free to Keep giveaway.

There are a few titles that Steam users can pick up for free right now. Roving Rovers is set to become a paid title on May 13, giving players a few days to grab it for free. Meanwhile, Lenovo is hosting a Steam free game giveaway for Dishonored 2 keys on May 13, although that is limited until key supplies run out.
