Until May 23, Steam users can take advantage of a new Fanatical promotion offering free keys for the acclaimed 2018 RPG Tower of Time. Most Steam promotions come directly from developers on Valve’s storefront, but this one is tied to Fanatical’s May Madness sale.
As of this writing, the only other active free-to-claim promotion on Steam is the quirky indie platformer Dino Running from a Furry. However, several games are also expected to go free on Steam in May and June, including Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War and Car Mechanic Simulator 2018. That said, these upcoming promotions were datamined from Steam’s backend data and are not guaranteed to happen, as developers or Valve can always change the details and schedule.

Tower of Time is described as a real-time strategy RPG with dungeon crawler mechanics. The core gameplay focuses on exploring underground locations to uncover what is causing trouble in its Lord of the Rings-esque fantasy world. On the RPG side, it features class building, weapon forging, team assembly, and skill-unlocking systems that can appeal to hardcore role-playing fans. Tower of Time also has a unique combat system that differentiates it from many mainstream RPGs.
In Tower of Time, battles are designed as strategic and tactical puzzles, developer Event Horizon says. Players are required to make real-time decisions, such as determining the team’s position on the map and the direction of attacks, to overcome the game’s over 150 enemy types and 50 boss fights. Tower of Time also offers a game mode called RPGlite that cuts the story content so combat-enthusiast players can concentrate on fighting creatures without interruption.

Gamers interested in lucrative deals might also want to check out Fanatical’s Mystery Egg Bundle offer. With this promotion, players can purchase very cheap Steam keys in bulk for random games, giving them a chance to get a mix of indie or AAA titles such as Crimson Desert or 007 First Light. It is important to remember that the keys are completely random, and there is no guarantee that any of the mentioned games will be included in the bundles. Still, some lucky players who buy Mystery Egg Bundles may end up claiming recent big releases for as little as $1.
