As of this writing, Steam users can expect the platform’s Free-to-Keep Promotion to offer at least five games in June 2026, although one of them has a slight caveat attached. Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion, for those unaware, is a publisher-initiated promotion wherein they offer their games completely free of charge for a limited time, letting anyone who claims the game within a week (usually) add it to their digital libraries and keep it forever.
However, the nature of Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion makes it less reliable and consistent than, say, the Epic Games Store free games. PC gamers always know when to expect those, while the Free-to-Keep Promotion can often go live out of nowhere. Furthermore, EGS announces them ahead of time, and Steam does not. That said, sites like Steamdb make finding the backend information about upcoming games for the Steam Free-to-Keep Promotion easier than ever, and while it is not concrete, it is decently reliable. Not every game listed there makes it to a Free-to-Keep Promotion period, but every Steam Free-to-Keep game pops up on this list first.
New Factory Building Game on Steam is Factorio for Snacks
If you love eating snacks and love playing Factorio, then this aptly named automation game is sure to be right up your alley.
- Overcome Your Fears – Caretaker
- Gravity Circuit
- Remothered: Tormented Fathers
- The Red Lantern
- Winexy
As such, fans can expect to see Overcome Your Fears – Caretaker, Gravity Ciruit, Remothered: Tormented Fathers, The Red Lantern, and Winexy made available at some point in June. Sometimes they are added weeks in advance, other times they are added hours in advance, so Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion will almost certainly have more than these games in June. They are simply the only ones with the backend data available right now.

The important caveat here is Overcome Your Fears – Caretaker because I’ve omitted it from past lists. Overcome Your Fears – Caretaker was already made Free to Keep on Steam at the start of May, and it was on this list ahead of then. Yet, it hasn’t been removed since. Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion could, in theory, run it back at any point, so that’s the caveat. It’s uncertain why it’s still there, as every other giveaway is removed on the day, but regardless, per backend data, these five games will be temporarily free in June. Nothing is free yet, but these games should be some time in June.

That basic horror premise then shifts to walking simulator-like gameplay as things shift and change around him.

- VHS-style aesthetic elements

Check Out Gravity Circuit on Steam (95% Overwhelmingly Positive Reviews)
Gravity Circuit is a fast-paced 2D action platformer inspired by the Mega Man games, and it isn’t scared of showing it. In it, players take on the role of the robotic hero Kai, who must face enemy robots, complete intense platforming combat sequences, and otherwise enjoy its pixel-art environments. It’s a straightforward hero story for the most part, but one that definitely gels with the genre, and players unlock new abilities as they face each stage’s boss.
- Single player campaign with 12 stages
- 2D action-platformer with fast combat
- Melee-focused combo system
- Tight, responsive movement and platforming
- Boss fights and linear stage progression

2021 Narrative Game ‘The Red Lantern’ May Be Free on Steam in June
Check Out The Red Lantern on Steam (84% Very Positive)
The Red Lantern is a narrative game on Steam about a musher and some sled dogs, first and foremost, but it combines survival mechanics (choices, resource management, dog team) and roguelike gameplay in the Alaskan Wilderness, too. It’s exceptional in its direction and delivers on its execution for the most part, as each run becomes deeply personal.
- Roguelite survival adventure set in the Alaskan Wilderness
- Dog sled team management with emotional attachment systems
- Randomized events and replayable runs
- Resource and morale management mechanics
2017 Puzzle Game Winexy May Be Free on Steam in June
Check Out Winexy on Steam (67% Positive Results in Mixed Reviews)
The oldest game on the current list is also the simplest. Winexy is a simple physics-based platformer where players navigate a ball through various structures and obstacles. It’s super basic, and most solutions to its puzzles are based on learning momentum and movement patterns, but nothing about it is especially skill-based at all.
- Physics-based platforming
- Momentum and timing-focused movement mechanics
- Floating obstacle courses and challenge stages
- Minimalist design with arcade-style progression
