Steam‘s Free-to-Keep Promotion sporadically updates and turns premium, paid games into limited-time deals where players can get them without paying a dime. Previously, this promotion had 6 games set to release between May and June, but as of this writing, it has been updated to 7 games by the end of May and possibly 4 in June. However, by nature of the promotion, there is no guarantee that all of these games hit Steam on time or at all.
Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion is initiated by publishers, with some oversight by owner Valve, and it’s possible to track these promotional changes in Steam’s backend with Steamdb. However, because these are backend changes, they are not publicly announced quite yet. Sometimes these games come sooner or later, other times these games do not come at all, but every game included in Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion does appear on this list initially. As such, PC users can avoid buying these games now and wait for them to hit the promotion, if any do interest them.

Missing a free game deal on Steam blows, and this information is intended to help prevent that experience.

The current list is focused on current FTK games listed for May. Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion games for June, as they stand, are listed as Gravity Circuit, Remothered: Tormented Fathers, The Red Lantern, and Winexy. Overcome Your Fears – Caretaker is also listed, but was previously featured. It’s uncertain if the promotion will run again or is a layover.
Warhammer 40K: Gladius – Relics of War
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War is a turn-based 4X strategy game that puts players in control of one of four iconic factions—Astra Militarum, Space Marines, Orks, or Necrons—as they battle for dominance over a resource-rich planet. Each faction features its own unique playstyle and technology tree, creating distinct approaches to expansion, warfare, and survival, and all combat takes place on a randomly generated map. These maps include, but are not limited to, environmental effects, dangerous wildlife, and special features that can dramatically impact strategy. As they compete with their enemies, they must fight over powerful artifacts and build up their cities and fortifications, as well as access a wide variety of tactical options, Hero Units, and so forth. As with all Warhammer 40K games, it’s a lot.
Bunny Hurling
Bunny Hurling may sound absurdly simple at first glance, but it’s more of an unusual and unsettling hunting game than it lets on. Players essentially hunt rabbits in the woods before loading them into a catapult and firing them into a castle, all to appease the king, of course. Players soon get caught between the increasingly disturbing reality of what defines a rabbit in the King’s Woods and the king himself, twisting the game into something more akin to a horror game than a hunting one. But it’s definitely unique, I’ll give it that.
Drift86
Drift86 is an arcade-style racing game focused on drifting and combos. It’s straightforward if someone wants a simpler racing game than Forza Horizon 6, and it offers 30 maps, different cars, and multiplayer support. It’s short, it’s simple, it’s typically $2, and it’ll soon be free for a short stint.
IQ Under Construction
IQ Under Construction is a friendslop game akin to Chained Together, but the players are instead connected by a “mysterious energy.” Players are forced to climb higher and higher, face unique obstacles, coordinate, and work together through increasing levels of difficulty. It’s a familiar formula, but given that it will be free for a limited time, it might be worth a few sessions with friends.
Bunny Guys!
If you’re sensing a theme here, wait until you hear what kind of game Bunny Guys is. As humanoid rabbits, players must attempt to climb a structure and beat other players in the process. Bunny Guys is a platforming PvP game that takes the absurdity of Bunny Hurling and gives it a touch of IQ Under Construction to ensure that, however these promos roll out, there’s a little consistency among them. As players climb the top, they’ll face unique obstacles, work against other players, dodge nasty traps, be tripped over by precision gameplay, and work their way through dangerous parkour routes. Failure ends up at the bottom, while the fastest to complete a level gains the Golden Bunny title. According to devs, the average playtime is highly dependent on the fall rate of any match. It could be less than an hour, it could be hours, but those who want to pick it up for free on Steam should be sure to hop to it whenever its turn rolls up.
Moonrise Fall
Moonrise Fall has nothing to do with rabbits, but it does have something to do with forests. In it, players take on the role of a young child lost in a supernatural forest following the deaths of his parents. It’s a more atmospheric game for Steam users, as opposed to these other upcoming games, and focuses on observational and puzzle-based gameplay. There’s an immersive world focused on weather and the passing of time, while players can photograph and uncover changes that lead them to the next puzzle. A lot is going on, but it’s packaged into something relatively simplistic all the same.
Car Mechanic Simulator 2018
Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is a detailed simulation game where players run their own auto repair shop, taking apart, repairing, tuning, painting, and restoring dozens of vehicles piece by piece. Starting with a small garage, players complete repair jobs, hunt for junkyard and barn-find cars, upgrade their workshop, and eventually build a full car restoration empire.
