Team Ice King Gets a Showdown Progress Boost Today

The rivalry score between Team Foundation and Team Ice King has been tight this season, but Fortnite is giving Team Ice King a boost for the next 24 hours. Chapter 7 Season 2 has been dubbed Fortnite Showdown, as it is all about the epic fight between The Foundation and Ice King. Those who have been following Fortnite lore for some time now will be familiar with both of these characters, as they are a major part of the game’s storyline throughout the past few years. The Foundation is the leader of the Seven, and he and the rest of his crew are attempting to bring down dark entities, such as the Ice King and the Dark Voyager.

At the start of Chapter 7 Season 2, players had to pick whether they wanted to side with The Foundation or the Ice King. This decision was added alongside the rivalries mechanic. When players initiate a rivalry, they are assigned a rival from the opposite team, which they must eliminate or collect their rivalry contract if they are eliminated by someone else. Successfully completing a rivalry grants players credits, which they can spend on better weapons and adds to their team’s collective score in the Showdown screen.

Team Ice King Receives Showdown Boosts or 24 Hours

Throughout the time that Chapter 7 Season 2 has been live, the number of Showdown rivalries has been very close for both teams – neither has ever been winning nor losing by a large margin. To keep things interesting, Epic Games is giving Team Ice King a boost for 24 hours. The timer started on Saturday, April 4, at 9 AM ET. The boost means that a multiplier will be applied to all Ice King Team rivalry victories; every time that a member of Team Ice King wins a rivalry, it will count as 1.5 for their team, meaning they will progress at an additional 50 percent speed.

At the moment, it has not been revealed whether Team Foundation will receive a boost this weekend. Team Ice King received a boost the previous Friday as part of the Frosty Friday event, and Sunday was all about Team Foundation for the Seven’s Sunday. Therefore, it is likely that Team Foundation will soon receive a similar boost and get more points from each rivalry victory in Fortnite.

While it will not count towards the final score, as it doesn’t include the rivalries mechanic, players should also make the most of the weekend and give the Avengers Endgame LTM a try. Fortnite OG has now entered Chapter 1 Season 8, so the Endgame LTM was unvaulted, as it was one of the biggest features from that season.

Players are assigned a random team at the start of an Endgame LTM match. They will either be on the Heroes’ Team or the Children of Thanos Team (so there is still a rivalry in the mix), and their objective will be to eliminate Thanos’s minions or collect the Infinity Stones, respectively. The first player on the Children of Thanos Team will even be able to help their team by turning into Thanos.
