After a lengthy wait, Doom: The Dark Ages players finally got a look at its upcoming story DLC, and thankfully, it looks extremely promising. While seeing it in action will have been a big moment for existing Doom: The Dark Ages players, those who haven’t ripped and teared their way through the latest entry in the franchise have a chance to get a $1 copy through Steam.

Obviously, this mega deal is well-timed since the DLC launches on July 7, giving lucky winners just enough time to catch up on the base game and prepare themselves for the Doom Slayer’s latest bout of demon killing. For those that didn’t see the trailer for this upcoming Doom DLC, Revelations, at the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, it’s certainly worth a watch. Doom Eternal-like movement, a focus on aerial combos, and an icy setting were all confirmed. Additionally, an epic new spear weapon was unveiled that can be tossed, slammed, and used for melee attacks, and it pairs perfectly with the Shield Saw. For anyone seeking a chance to catch up on The Dark Ages for cheap, giving Fanatical’s Mystery Gift Bundle is worth a buy is worth a shot.

Doom: The Dark Ages DLC Finally Revealed

Developer id Software pulls back the curtain on a new campaign for DOOM: The Dark Ages that players can soon enjoy on all supported platforms.

Fanatical Steam Deal Can Get You Doom: The Dark Ages For Just $1

This isn’t the first time that Fanatical has offered gamers a chance at a super cheap AAA game; for instance, players recently had a chance to snag the Deluxe edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for $1. However, that instance, just like with Doom: The Dark Ages, was a rare occurrence. There is no guarantee that players will pull Doom: The Dark Ages as their Mystery Gift, as there are numerous potential games available through Fanatical’s program.

Doom: The Dark Ages is one of several game keys that can be pulled by the luckiest buyers. LEGO Batman is still one of the other AAA options, as is Far Far West, the Deluxe Edition of newly released fighting game Invincible VS, and the excellent Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (Deluxe Edition). However, it’s worth noting that the Golden Box containing all these massive AAA releases is extremely rare. Players are far more likely to get one of the 500 indies offered through this program than a Golden Box, with an individual AAA pull being rare enough as is.

If Steam users want the best possible chance at a rare Golden Box containing a “premium game collection valued at over $1000,” they’ll surely want to get more than a single box. While one box is indeed $1, 5 keys go for $4.79, 10 are $7.49, 15 are $10.79, 20 are $13.99, and 25 keys costs $16.99 USD. The program will be running for several weeks still, so interested gamers have a fair bit of time to collect their desired amount of boxes. Players can redeem their Steam keys manually, or link their accounts after spending $5 to quickly add Steam games to their libraries.

It’s important to note that players can double up on cheap Steam games and get titles they already own, though this is where having the key comes in handy, as players can share any doubles with their friends.

The average rating of the games included is very positive, so even if players don’t land themselves a super cheap copy of Doom: The Dark Ages, they could end up enjoying a game they may have never even heard of. However, for those who just want the latest Doom and don’t care about other games, it’s probably best to buy it outright instead of gambling on Fanatical mystery boxes.
