The Lord of the Rings: Legolas Officially Revealed

The Lord of the Rings is bringing back one of its most popular characters for another release, with Legolas getting something new more than 20 years after Peter Jackson’s original film trilogy concluded. The Elven archer has become one of the most recognizable characters in Middle-earth, thanks in large part to Orlando Bloom’s portrayal throughout The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

Interestingly, Legolas is one of the best Lord of the Rings characters whose popularity extends well beyond the original books and movies. He’s appeared in numerous video games, while also inspiring plenty of merchandise over the years. His distinctive appearance makes him particularly well-suited for collectibles, especially those attempting to recreate the characters as they appeared in Jackson’s adaptations. Now, more companies are preparing to revisit the Elven prince, although some important details are still being kept under wraps.

  • The Lord of the Rings Legolas Sixth Scale Figure Will Be Shown Soon (RSVP HERE)

Sideshow has confirmed a new The Lord of the Rings Legolas Sixth Scale Figure, with the upcoming collectible being produced in collaboration with Asmus Collectible Toys. The figure is currently listed as “Coming Soon” on Sideshow’s official website, with interested collectors able to RSVP for updates about its eventual release. However, neither company has announced a price or release date, and pre-orders aren’t available just yet. There’s also no confirmed information about the figure’s accessories or other features, meaning the full reveal is still to come.

As the name suggests, the upcoming Lord of the Rings collectible will be produced in sixth scale, a popular format for detailed character figures. These typically stand around 12 inches tall, although the exact dimensions depend on the character. Sixth-scale figures also tend to feature more elaborate clothing, realistic facial sculpts, and various accessories. For Legolas, there’s certainly plenty of material to work with, including his Elven outfit, long blond hair, bow, and other recognizable equipment. Of course, Sideshow hasn’t confirmed which of those elements will be included.

Asmus Collectible Toys is also a familiar name when it comes to The Lord of the Rings, having previously released several collectibles based on characters from the movies. Its lineup has included sixth-scale figures of Gandalf, Aragorn, and other recognizable members of the Fellowship, often featuring detailed costumes and accessories inspired by their appearances on screen. The company’s involvement is noteworthy, particularly given its experience recreating Middle-earth’s characters in collectible form. However, collectors will need to wait for the full announcement before knowing exactly how this new Legolas figure compares to Asmus’ earlier releases.

The Lord of the Rings: Wolves of Mordor is Live Now

There’s no telling exactly when Sideshow will reveal more about its upcoming Lord of the Rings Legolas figure, although the RSVP page suggests that additional information is on the way. Pricing will be particularly interesting, especially since sixth-scale collectibles can vary considerably depending on their materials, accessories, and overall complexity. For now, the announcement confirms Sideshow and Asmus are preparing to give Legolas another appearance outside the movies.
