After earning $1 billion in theaters, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will come to Peacock for streaming on July 30, the streamer has announced.
This is just the latest way to watch the movie on your couch, as it previously came to premium video-on-demand services on May 19 and then on Blu-ray on June 16.
You can sign up for Peacock now, starting at $8/month. It’s not the only video game movie on the service, as The Super Mario Bros. Movie is also streaming there. On the TV front, Seasons 1-2 of Twisted Metal are on Peacock as well.
Upcoming Nintendo movies
Nintendo’s next movie after The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is the live-action The Legend of Zelda from Sony Pictures. It’s set for release in April 2027, and after its theatrical run, it will stream exclusively on Netflix as part of a gigantic deal between Sony Pictures and Netflix.
Given the huge success of Nintendo’s animated Mario movie with Universal, it’s expected the partnership will continue. In fact, a page that appears to be Universal Studios Spain recently listed an untitled Nintendo animated movie for release in April 2028. Nintendo and Universal have yet to officially confirm anything, however.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has earned more than $1 billion worldwide and ranks as the No. 2 highest-grossing video game movie of all time.
2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which made $1.36 billion, ranks as the highest-grossing video game movie ever.
