The Wandering Village Getting Two Physical Premium Editions

The Wandering Village is a city-building simulator set upon the back of a behemoth strolling endlessly across a destroyed landscape. Officially released in 2025, it quickly garnered a “Very Positive” score on Steam with nearly 4,000 reviews. It’s now gearing up to launch a physical Premium Edition and Collector’s Edition for PS5 and Switch–both of which feature a fun assortment of collectible goodies. The Premium Edition is $50, while the Collector’s Edition is $150 (it includes unique gear, including an Onbu succulent pot). Preorders are now open ahead of the May 8 release date.

The Wandering Village takes place in a world devastated by strange, toxic spores. This makes much of the land uninhabitable–so a few survivors take up residence on the back of Onbu, a hulking behemoth that wanders across the land, above the deadly toxins. It’s here you’ll work to create a thriving settlement, building new structures and researching new technologies. You’ll also have to contend with ever-changing climates. Onbu is always on the move, and depending on where they take you, you might have to alter your strategy to survive the changing weather patterns and environmental hazards.

A Story Mode was recently added to the game, offering additional quests, lore, and an intriguing story for you to unravel. So whether you’re a newcomer to the game or a veteran that’s been playing since Early Access, there’s bound to be something for you to enjoy.

Since these deluxe editions of The Wandering Village don’t arrive until May, consider picking up Civilization 7: Deluxe Edition to help ease the wait. The PC version is currently on sale for just $60 (was $100), pulling together the base game plus additional content like the Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack, Crossroads of the World Collection, and the Deluxe Content Pack. Our review said it “remains as fun and engaging as ever,” though it does make some questionable changes to the standard formula. Still, its 4X gameplay is bound to give strategy fans hundreds of hours of excitement–and now that you can snag the Deluxe Edition with a huge discount, it’s a great time to finally dive in.
