The beloved Dragon Ball franchise’s future is as bright as anything in its past, from the OG and DBZ to Super and Daima, and fans have a lot to look forward to, with one upcoming release getting a brand-new teaser. Needless to say, with everything going on, it’s a good time to be a Dragon Ball fan.

For example, beyond this latest teaser, fans know that a Dragon Ball Super anime remake focused on Beerus’ initial arc is set to release later this year, while the Galactic Patrol arc is also set to get an anime adaptation sometime in the future. It’s uncertain when it releases, as well as games like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, but fans are at least being treated to an expansive final DLC for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Gives Fans a Peek at Xenoverse 3’s Age 1000

Now, the post-credit scene for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has found its way online. In it, as shared by known Dragon Ball reporter Hype (via Twitter user janemba8000), Fu conducts one final experiment to peek into the future. The worst outcome possible has officially been removed from the timeline, and fans get a peek 150 or so years into the future, at Age 1000—the setting of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. It would have perhaps been a stronger, more poignant, and more mysterious teaser had Bandai Namco waited until now to reveal Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 and its 2027 release date, but at the same time, it’s still a bittersweet moment.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2‘s final DLC serves as the game’s last major content update, wrapping up a decade of post-launch support with new story content, playable characters, Parallel Quests, skills, costumes, and customization options. The expansion brings the game’s ongoing Time Patrol storyline to an end alongside all this new content. The update also includes free gameplay additions, balance changes, and quality-of-life improvements, truly marking it as an end of an era for Dragon Ball fans. The good news, as seen in this post-credits scene, is that one door opens and another closes.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 will usher in a new era for the franchise, as well as for Dragon Ball Z video games. It remains to be seen if it can last as long as Xenoverse 2, but given how Xenoverse 2 lasted longer than plenty of major fighting games, it certainly could. Early previews of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 have been positive, with fans also getting treated to combat improvements and potentially new races to boot.

Perhaps the biggest rumor about Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is the Time Gods of Destruction. Reportedly based on Akira Toriyama’s designs of new Dinosaur-like entities, these beings will reportedly play a role in the third game—perhaps as the antagonists, as they are believed to have the power to clean entire timelines. Right now, though, fans will just have to wait and see what the new era of Age 1000 looks like.
