Witcher 3 Fan Shows Off Ciri Knight Armor Cosplay

A Witcher 3 fan online has shown off their partner’s incredible Ciri cosplay. This tribute to one of The Witcher 3‘s most popular characters features a real sword forged by blacksmiths, as well as chainmail armor made over the course of two years.

Ciri has always been widely considered to be one of the best characters in The Witcher 3. Geralt’s hunt for his adopted daughter drives the narrative, and players even had the opportunity to play as her in certain sections, where they could harness unique powers they couldn’t use in regular gameplay.

Why The Witcher 3’s Zerrikania Would be the Ideal Location for DLC 3

The announcement of a third Witcher 3 DLC feels imminent, and the land of Zerrikania would be the perfect setting for the expansion.

The Witcher 3 Fan Spends Two Years Creating Ciri Cosplay

Redditor Alswulf shared their wife’s Ciri cosplay, which shows the character in a knight armor set that doesn’t actually exist in The Witcher 3. The user says that they “both hope this type of armor will be available in Witcher 4.” According to Alswulf, this Witcher 3 cosplay took around two years to make, with all metal parts and the swords being forged by the couple’s blacksmiths. Alswulf helped with the chainmail, too. It’s a pretty incredible achievement, and she looks just like Ciri from The Witcher 3, albeit with an arguably even cooler set of armor.

Comments throughout the thread were extremely impressed by the cosplay, and wanted more details about the process. Interestingly, because the sword was forged by real blacksmiths, it’s actually usable, and the armor is made from “pretty tough steel,” too. The sword is “balanced and light,” which means she’s able to “do simple cuts or swings with a single hand.”

Since the release of The Witcher 3, there have been plenty of incredible fan tributes that pay homage to CD Projekt RED’s 2015 RPG. Because the game features tons of recognizable characters and outfits, cosplay is a very common way for those tributes to take shape. Cosplay of Ciri from The Witcher 3 has been done various times, but this particular effort may be the most impressive yet.

Gamers can expect to see a lot more of Ciri in the next few years. She is set to take over as the series’ protagonist in The Witcher 4, which was officially revealed at The Game Awards 2024. News about the upcoming RPG has been difficult to come by, but Ciri taking the mantle of protagonist has kept fans excited as the wait goes on. It remains to be seen if Ciri will feature in the rumored Witcher 3 expansion, which is said to bridge the gap between the previous and upcoming games.
