Witcher 4 And New IP At CD Projekt Get Fresh Updates; Here's The Latest

Polish developer CD Projekt Red has announced that it’s hired more than 200 people in the past year, and that the majority of the new hires came aboard to work on The Witcher 4.

As part of CD Projekt’s latest earnings report, joint CEO Michał Nowakowski said more than 220 people joined the company’s various teams in the past year. “Most” of the new hires are now working on The Witcher 4 to “help improve the quality and scale up” the project.

Specifically, he said the new staff will be working on “solutions” from the Unreal Fest tech demo for The Witcher 4 and trying to implement these things “across the entire game.”

As of February 28 this year, The Witcher 4 had 499 people working on it, which was up from 447 at the end of October 2025 and 411 on February 28, 2025. As you can see in the graph below, the majority of the developer’s staff are working on The Witcher 4, with Cyberpunk 2 (149 developers) ranking second when it comes to game development. More people (169) are working on the company’s “shared services” teams, though. This comprises the localization, quality assurance, data, insights, and motion-capture.

Another notable update from the earnings report pertained to CD Projekt’s new IP, which is in the works under the codename Hadar. Nowakowski said the studio has now “established the foundations” of the game. “We are designing specific elements that might be included in the game, creating multiple prototypes and implementing them directly in Real Engine,” he said.

As of February 28 this year, Hadar had 26 people working on it, down from 29 at the end of October, but up from 17 a year ago.

Another game in the works at CD Projekt now is a game codenamed Sirius. This is the project at the company’s The Molasses Flood division near Boston that has undergone some upheaval. The game had 71 people working on it as of February 28, up from 56 in October and 49 in February of last year.

Cyberpunk 2, meanwhile, saw its development staff rise to 149 through February 28, up from 135 at the end of October and 84 in February 2025.

Also in the earnings report, CD Projekt said it spent 513 million złoty ($139.2 million) in 2025 on future games, with the bulk of the money going to fund the development of The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2. The company also said 2025 was CD Projekt’s second-best year ever in terms of net earnings.

Earlier this year, CD Projekt raised its profit projections, setting an “ambitious” target, the company said. The company might be feeling positive about future growth due in part to the plan to release The Witcher 4, 5, and 6 within a six-year window.
