WWE 2K26 Releases New Update Ahead of the Game’s Full Release

WWE 2K26 has released a small patch for the new wrestling game ahead of its full release, pushing minor fixes to the early access version. The newest entry in the 2K series brought significant changes with the franchise’s transition to next-gen exclusivity, updating some of its most popular game modes. WWE 2K26‘s new story for MyRise puts players in the role of a returning WWE Superstar, while game modes like MyFaction and Universe saw changes like intergender teams and new WWE Draft functionality.

While WWE 2K26 doesn’t fully launch until March 13, many fans have already been given their first opportunity to play. WWE 2K26 officially rolled out its early access period on March 6, with fans who pre-ordered one of the special editions unlocking the game early. 2K included a variety of perks with its suite of special editions as well, including the Joe Hendry Pack and different variants of popular wrestlers like Triple H, The Rock, and Kane across the King of Kings, Attitude Era, and Monday Night War editions. Now, WWE 2K26 is rolling out a new patch ahead of its full launch.

WWE 2K26 Releases 1.03 Update

WWE 2K26 debuted its 1.03 patch on March 8, largely focusing on bug fixes and in-game stability. 2K confirmed it had addressed an issue with restarts not working properly when playing WWE 2K26‘s new 3 Stages of Hell matches. Among the other bug fixes mentioned by 2K within the patch notes were images not mapping correctly in Create mode, instability related to the leaderboard in Island mode, and custom superstars not loading properly in community creations. WWE 2K26 cited general stability and performance improvements across the board as well. The patch is already live on most versions of WWE 2K26, with the Switch 2 update confirmed to arrive at a later date.

The WWE 2K26 update’s patch notes are light on specifics, with many of the changes focusing on improving the overall stability of the game. Early reviews of the game have largely been positive about the core wrestling gameplay within WWE 2K26, with many feeling that the WWE franchise’s main gameplay continues to improve each year. The game’s many modes have seen some criticism for a lack of meaningful changes from previous entries, though the game has still seen praise for the amount of content for players to experience.

WWE 2K26‘s playable roster saw notable upgrades as well, including some big additions to the franchise for the first time. 2K officially added several wrestlers from Lucha Libre AAA to the franchise for the first time, with stars like El Hijo del Vikingo, Mr. Iguana, and Psycho Clown in the first Ringside Pass. The developer has also shown some wrestlers that will be added to the game in future seasons, with Season 3 confirmed to be adding Matt Cardona, Brian Pillman, and La Parka in June. The game includes a sizable default roster to choose from as well, featuring 200 different WWE Superstars.

WWE 2K26 has already given fans an idea of what to expect from the game’s future DLC. 2K revealed timeframes for each of the first six seasons of 2K26‘s Ringside Pass, releasing a new battle pass every one to two months. WWE 2K26 has also confirmed the release of a special DLC pack in Summer 2026 to commemorate the upcoming WrestleMania 42, with the match scheduled for April. WWE 2K26 players should have lots to look forward to from the wrestling game, with plenty of content planned beyond its initial launch.
