Xbox Game Pass subscribers have nine day one games to look forward to in October 2026 so far, with more likely to be announced in the near future. Xbox Game Pass subscribers may have to be signed up for the Ultimate or PC tiers of the service to get access to day one games, but for many, it’s worth the price of admission.
Some absolutely incredible games have been added to Xbox Game Pass on day one of their release. Last year within the span of two weeks, Xbox Game Pass subscribers were treated to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Blue Prince, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. In 2026, two of the highest-rated new game releases of the year, Forza Horizon 6 and Well Dweller, debuted as day one Game Pass games. And there’s even more for subscribers to look forward to in the near future.

At the time of this writing, nine games have been confirmed for the Xbox Game Pass October 2026 lineup. The headliner is undoubtedly Gears of War: E-Day, set to make its Game Pass debut on October 6. Echo Weaver and Neon Abyss 2 will follow on October 8, while Deep Dish Dungeon is coming to Game Pass on October 13. Soulslike game Valor Mortis is coming to Game Pass on October 13, with Beyond These Stars and Chained Beasts making their debuts on October 15. The Seance of Blake Manor is coming on October 27, and finally, Terrible Lizards is confirmed for Game Pass on October 29.
Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel to the Gears of War franchise that shows what happened at the start of the Locust invasion, aka “Emergence Day.” Gears of War: E-Day features an action-packed co-op campaign, the franchise’s signature PvP multiplayer experience, and a revamped Horde Mode for good measure. For many, Gears of War: E-Day will be worth signing up for Game Pass Ultimate by itself, but it’s certainly not coming alone.
Xbox Game Pass will be expanding its co-op lineup dramatically in October, and it’s not just because of Gears of War: E-Day. Neon Abyss 2, Deep Dish Dungeon, and Chained Beasts all offer co-op as well and should ensure that co-op gamers have plenty of options when it comes to the October 2026 Game Pass lineup.
With October being “spooky season,” one new Game Pass game that may be of particular interest is The Seance of Blake Manor. Even though The Seance of Blake Manor was first released for PC last year, the game is just now making its console debut through Game Pass, and so it still qualifies as a day one release. The Seance of Blake Manor has players investigating the mysterious disappearance of a woman who was staying at a creepy hotel, learning everything they can about the other guests and solving puzzles along the way. It’s definitely got Halloween vibes and should make a great addition to the Game Pass lineup when it’s added on October 27.
