Xbox Game Pass Losing 5 Games Today

Xbox Game Pass is losing five titles, including acclaimed puzzle platformer Planet of Lana, later today. Once those May 15 departures take effect, Xbox Game Pass will have lost 44 games in 2026.

On April 30, Xbox Game Pass suffered its biggest exodus in over 12 months. Nine titles left the service on that day, including Citizen Sleeper, Revenge of the Savage Planet, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. A significantly smaller wave of removals is now set to follow later today, May 15, around midnight local time.

Xbox Game Pass Adds One of 2026’s Most Anticipated Games

Xbox Game Pass adds another day-one title, expanding its ever-changing content catalog with one of the most anticipated games of 2026.

Planet of Lana Leaving Xbox Game Pass After Nearly Three Years

The forthcoming wave of removals includes Planet of Lana, Go Mecha Ball, PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, and Galacticare. Of those, Planet of Lana had by far the longest tenure on the service, having originally joined Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release in May 2023. Go Mecha Ball and Galacticare are the next longest-running titles in this batch, with each spending roughly two years in Microsoft’s content catalog.

Crowdsourced data indicates that Planet of Lana takes approximately five hours to beat on average, meaning there is still enough time for achievement hunters to rush through it before it leaves Xbox Game Pass. PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship is in a similar boat, with all 17 of its achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore points in total being obtainable in approximately four hours. The 3DClouds-developed PAW Patrol game only joined Xbox Game Pass in February 2026, meaning it is set to leave the service after just over three months.

Galacticare is the highest-rated title in the May 15 departure wave, with an 83 average score on OpenCritic and “Very Positive” user reviews on Steam. Beyond the offbeat sci-fi hospital sim, puzzle platformer Planet of Lana and afterlife-themed adventure game Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo also have OpenCritic average scores in the 80s. As a result, this is a relatively well-reviewed batch of removals, even though it is significantly smaller than the previous, April 30 wave.

The May 15 Xbox Game Pass departures bring the total number of this year’s removals from the service to 44. All five have already been offset by new arrivals, of which eight were recorded in the first half of May. The service currently has five more confirmed releases for the second half of the month: Forza Horizon 6, Beastro, Echo Generation 2, Crashout Crew, and RV There Yet. Even more are likely to be announced on or around May 19, when Microsoft is expected to formalize the Wave 2 Xbox Game Pass lineup for May 2026.
