Highlights
- Xbox Game Pass offers a wide variety of games, from big AAA releases to smaller indie titles, providing different gaming experiences.
- The lineup for May 2024 should include games like Suicide Squad and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, offering diverse gameplay options for subscribers.
- Other games for May should be Sekiro or Marvel’s Midnight Suns, perhaps even Hades.
The last few months of Xbox Game Pass have done a really good job of highlighting one of the service’s greatest strengths, its variety. While big AAA releases like Dead Island 2, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and most recently Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have all come to Xbox Game Pass in the last few months, so have plenty of smaller Indie titles like Open Roads, PlateUp!, and Another Crab’s Treasure, all of which offer completely different gameplay experiences.
While Xbox Game Pass’ 2024 line-up will likely continue embracing this strength, it’s currently a little unclear what the service has in store for subscribers in the coming month. There are currently just three games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass’ May 2024 line-up, and while Little Kitty, Big City, Hauntii, and of course, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 are bound to all be great new additions, they can’t hold up the service all on their own. With May being a fairly empty month for the entire gaming industry, it’s the perfect opportunity for Xbox Game Pass to really go all out, and a few big drops could make that happen.
Xbox Game Pass Is The Best Place for New Fallout Fans
Amazon’s Fallout show has been a pretty huge hit, and for any new fans of the Fallout franchise, Xbox Game Pass has everything one could want.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for May 2024: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Perhaps the most infamous release of 2024 so far, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has not had the best reception since its launch back in February. With a short campaign, some controversial story decisions, a half-baked multiverse plot thread, and an overabundance of repetitive live-service-oriented activities and missions, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is not Rocksteady’s triumphant return that fans were hoping for, but it would still make for an enjoyable Xbox Game Pass experience. With no initial payment required, fans would likely be much more forgiving of Suicide Squad‘s overt live-service structure, and it could finally give the game the audience it needs to keep surviving.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for May 2024: Marvel’s Midnight Suns
One of the most overlooked games of 2022, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is an excellent turn-based strategy game from Firaxis, the developer behind the beloved Civilization and XCOM franchises. With Marvel’s Midnight Suns managing to become the third most-played PS Plus game of last month, it seems like the game could finally be receiving the audience that it deserves, and an Xbox Game Pass release would likely cement that.
XboxGame Pass New Game for May 2024: Hades
While Hades was an Xbox Game Pass staple for a while there a few years ago, the beloved Indie roguelike hasn’t been seen on Game Pass since August 2022, and it’s about time that changed. Hype for Hades 2 has now reached an all-time high thanks to the recent launch of the sequel’s technical test, and there’s no better way to capitalize on that hype than by dropping the original Hades on Xbox Game Pass once again to tee fans up for the upcoming sequel.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for May 2024: Sekiro
Xbox Game Pass is home to a ton of great Soulslikes, and it’s a genre that seems to do quite well on the service. Just recently, Xbox Game Pass received Another Crab’s Treasure, a perfect starter Soulslike that eases newcomers into the often intimidating genre. With some new Soulslike fans now ready for some more advanced experiences, it’d be great to see any of FromSoftware’s games come to Game Pass. With Sekiro having been published by Activision, it seems like the one most likely to be added to Game Pass in the near future.
