Xbox Gamers Have 1 Last Chance to Claim Free Game (No Game Pass Required)

Xbox Gamers Have 1 Last Chance to Claim Free Game (No Game Pass Required)

Xbox gamers don’t often have free games to claim that do not require Xbox Game Pass or another subscription, but there is one to claim right now. Xbox gamers used to get “free” games as part of their Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, but that program was phased out in favor of Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Game Pass doesn’t give away free games that users can keep forever, but instead it features a rotating selection of titles ala something like Netflix.

Xbox Game Pass features hundreds of titles and if you are willing to sign up for the Ultimate or PC tiers, you can get day one games as well. For many, Xbox Game Pass provides a much greater value compared to something like the free games with Gold, but it’s still nice to get a freebie that you can call yours indefinitely. Luckily, one such free game is being given away right now, but Xbox gamers interested in claiming it for their digital libraries are running out of time to do so.

PS5 Gamers Have Until April 13 to Claim Free Game (No PS Plus Required)

PlayStation 5 gamers have a limited amount of time to claim a free game for their digital libraries at absolutely no cost.

Graveyard Keeper is Free to Keep on Xbox

Until April 13, Xbox gamers can claim Graveyard Keeper completely free of charge. Normally priced at $19.99, Graveyard Keeper is a management game where players run their own cemetery, with a general style not too far off from something like Stardew Valley. Its grim premise means it’s not really a “cozy game” per se, but Graveyard Keeper is still something that will likely appeal to fans of those types of games. It earned mixed reviews at the time of its original release, but Xbox gamers should claim it for free while they still can and come to their own conclusions about the game.

If you aren’t an Xbox gamer but still want a free game, you’re in luck. Graveyard Keeper isn’t just free on Xbox, it’s also free on Steam and the PlayStation Store as well. And since the PS5 is backward compatible, Graveyard Keeper is playable on Sony’s latest console despite technically being a PS4 game. In any case, the Steam and PS5 giveaways for Graveyard Keeper also expire on April 13, so anyone interested should be sure to snag it for their platform of choice while they still can.

While free game giveaways aren’t entirely unusual, it is out of the ordinary for the same game to be given away across multiple platforms at the same time. The Graveyard Keeper free giveaway is happening because Graveyard Keeper 2 was just announced, so it’s a way to promote the new game. People that may never have given something like Graveyard Keeper a chance might check it out while it’s free, and like it enough to eventually purchase the sequel when it releases later this year.

Any Xbox gamers that claim Graveyard Keeper for free, enjoy it, and can’t wait for the sequel should note that the original game’s various DLC packs are on sale for roughly $2-$3 a pop. So not only can you get even more Graveyard Keeper before the sequel comes out, it won’t cost all that much to do so.
