The lucky players began noticing the arrival of a gift card starting late on April 15, just after the recent Xbox Spring Sale was coming to an end. Xbox hasn’t explained why it’s chosen the gamers it did for this promotion, but some have speculated that it’s more likely to receive one if the player hasn’t bought much from the store recently. According to one shared screenshot, players can expect the code to be valid until early May, and once redeemed, it will remain available for 30 days, giving players a limited time to find a title they want to spend it on.
Gamers who are curious if they’ve received the gift card can easily check. Some players have found it by checking the console dashboard or the Xbox website and going to the “Offers & Credits” section. If it’s there, it will show up under the “Active” tab. However, others have discovered it by pressing the Xbox button on their controller, navigating to Parties & Chats, and then checking their messages. If it’s there, the listing will include information on when the code expires, how to redeem it, and how much time is given to use it once redeemed. Given that players are now being made aware of this offer, however, it’s possible that scammers could try to replicate the messages in order to trick players.
