Xbox is Publishing 2 Games on PS5 This Month

There once was a time when you would need an Xbox console or a PC to play games published by Xbox Game Studios, but now those games are readily available on competing platforms like the PlayStation 5, including two new titles releasing in February 2026. Xbox changed the industry forever when it decided to start releasing its games as multiplatform titles, bringing some of its biggest releases to PS5 and Switch. While this strategy has resulted in higher sales for certain games, it’s likely going to do serious long-term damage to the Xbox brand that it may never truly recover from.

Regardless, it’s great for PlayStation 5 gamers that they can play Xbox Game Studios games without actually having to buy an Xbox console or powerful PC. So far, PS5 gamers have been treated to heavy hitters like Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Gears of War: Reloaded, with plans to bring the upcoming Halo 1 remake, Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and Gears of War: E-Day to PS5 later this year.

PS5 Has 8 Big Games Releasing in February 2026

PlayStation 5 gamers have a lot to look forward to in February 2026, with eight big new game releases on the horizon.

While those games are months away from release, PS5 gamers have a couple of titles to look forward to in the more immediate future. Later this month, PS5 gamers can look forward to playing Avowed and Towerborne, two games published by Xbox Game Studios, on their console of choice. Unlike most new game releases, we already have a good idea of what to expect from both Avowed and Towerborne quality-wise, so PS5 gamers should be in for a treat.

New Xbox Games Coming to PS5 This Month

  • Avowed – February 17
  • Towerborne – February 26

Avowed will release for PS5 on February 17, a full year after it originally released for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed is similar in style to games like The Elder Scrolls, albeit much smaller in scale. Avowed earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release and was hailed as one of the better Xbox-published games to drop last year. PS5 gamers wanting a big action-RPG experience should certainly mark their calendars accordingly, as Avowed fits the bill and then some.

Then, on February 26, PS5 gamers can check out Towerborne. Towerborne is a beat ’em up/action-RPG hybrid developed by The Banner Saga studio Stoic that has been available in early access on PC and Xbox for the past couple of years. Towerborne has earned high praise in early access, and so it’s no wonder that many fans of the genre are eagerly anticipating its full, 1.0 release. When Towerborne‘s 1.0 release is out, it will also be made available on PS5, marking yet another Xbox-published game to hit Sony’s console.

Other Xbox Games Coming to PS5 Soon

  • Kiln – Spring 2026
  • South of Midnight – Spring 2026
  • Fable – Fall 2026
  • Forza Horizon 6 – TBA 2026
  • Gears of War: E-Day – TBA 2026
  • Halo: Campaign Evolved – TBA 2026

While no other Xbox-published games currently have specific PS5 release dates, we do know that Kiln and South of Midnight are coming to the console this spring. Kiln is a new multiplayer party-brawler game from Double Fine, while South of Midnight is a stylish action-adventure game that first released on Xbox last year and managed to earn some awards in the process. We also know that the Fable reboot is coming to PS5 this fall, but a specific date for that game has not been announced at the time of this writing.

Forza Horizon 6‘s release date is May 19 for PC and Xbox. We do know that Forza Horizon 6 is getting a PS5 version as well, but we don’t know when exactly it will be available. It is still expected to drop in 2026, however, as are Gears of War: E-Day and Halo: Campaign Evolved. More information on those games, and their PS5 ports, should come to light in the months ahead.
