Xbox Series X/S Consoles Just Got Even More Expensive Yet Again

Marc Deschamps has been writing about video games and popular culture for more than a decade, at various outlets. Prior to joining GameRant, Marc served as a freelancer, staff writer, and editor at sites like IGN, Nintendojo, and ComicBook. Gaming is one of Marc’s oldest loves, but he also has a deep background in comics and movies. In addition to being a published comic writer, Marc is a Rotten Tomatoes-verified critic that has reviewed movies and interviewed directors, actors, and actresses.

Microsoft has announced another round of price increases for the Xbox Series X/S consoles, which will go into effect on August 1. While gamers are used to seeing the price of video game systems drop throughout a console generation, the opposite has been the case over the last few years. The price increases for video game consoles are a direct result of companies pushing to expand AI, which has led to much higher demand for RAM.

Xbox’s Early Senua Reveal Was an Attempt to Attract Potential Ninja Theory Investor

Reports claim that Xbox recently announced Senua because the company thought it would make it easier to find a buyer for developer Ninja Theory.

The price of Xbox Series X/S 512 GB models will increase by $100, while the 1 TB models will see a price increase of $150. Microsoft has also announced plans to sunset the 2 TB model. The price of Xbox consoles was raised last fall, and the company had apparently hoped to avoid another round of increases. In a press release, Xbox said that the price of memory and storage have both gone up 2.5x, and the company expects it to double again in the fall of 2026.

  • Xbox Series X 1TB (Disc Drive) New Price – $799.99
  • Xbox Series X 1TB (Digital) New Price – $749.99
  • Xbox Series S 512GB New Price – $499.99
  • Xbox Series S 1TB New Price – $599.99
