Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection Deal – Get 14 Game Boy RPGs On Switch For

Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection for Nintendo Switch is on sale for only $20 (was $50) at Amazon. The deal matches the all-time low for the physical edition of the retro compilation of Game Boy games. Released last February, the Early Days Collection comes with 14 GB, GBC, and GBA games originally released from 1998 to 2003. The Switch-exclusive physical edition comes with a Secret Rare Yu-Gi-Oh trading card; you’ll get one of two Quarter Century Secret Rare Harpie’s Feather Duster cards.

Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection is only available for $20 at Amazon, but Walmart has a $26 deal. Meanwhile, Best Buy and Target are charging the full $50 price. PC players can get a Steam key from Green Man Gaming for $42.49 with promo code JAN15.

Here’s the full list of games, all of which originally released on Game Boy (GB), Game Boy Color (GBC), or Game Boy Advance (GBA). Five of the 14 games in the Early Days Collection were previously only available in Japan.

  • Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 (2001, GBA) – New
  • Yu-Gi-Oh The Sacred Cards (2002, GBA)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Reshef of Destruction (2003, GBA)
  • Yu-Gi Oh Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel (2003, GBA)

Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters was the franchise’s first big hit and the only entry to release on original Game Boy. The series really hit its stride on Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance in the early 2000s. Remarkably, all 14 games were released within a five-year window from 1998 to 2003.

The Early Days Collection contains the first 14 Yu-Gi-Oh handheld games, but Konami also developed several console for PlayStation, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 in the late ’90s and early 2000s that aren’t included here.

Yu-Gi-Oh fans can also pick up Steelbook Editions of multiple Yu-Gi-Oh anime movies on Blu-ray for low prices at Amazon and Walmart. Yu-Gi-Oh The Movie Steelbook is up for grabs for only $15.38 (was $30), and Yu-Gi-Oh Bonds Beyond Time is $16.56 (was $30).

Meanwhile, all 86-plus hours of the classic Yu-Gi-Oh anime series are available on DVD for $103.49. The 32-disc box set comes with Seasons 1-5 and Bonds Beyond Time.

For anyone interested in checking out the franchise’s source material, the original 38-volume manga written and illustrated by Kazuki Takahashi is available in budget-friendly paperback compilations at Amazon. The first 12 paperbacks come with three volumes and are roughly 600 pages each; the final omnibus edition collects the last two volumes in the series and is just over 400 pages.
