Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Awesome UFO to Fly Across Hyrule

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Awesome UFO to Fly Across Hyrule

Using the building mechanics in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one player has created a functional UFO to cruise across Hyrule. Despite releasing nearly three years ago, numerous Zelda fans continue to return to Tears of the Kingdom to build impressive machines, often sharing them with the game’s community on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit.

While Tears of the Kingdom innovated in many ways compared to its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ultrahand was a standout feature for many fans. Thanks to this ability, Link could manipulate objects to create contraptions. These could be used to help traverse across Hyrule and fend off some of Tears of the Kingdom’s enemies. Over the years, players have become more acquainted with the game’s building mechanics, resulting in some incredible creations that blend function with style.

2026 is Zelda’s Anniversary, So It’s Time to the Switch Gets the Ports Fans Have Been Begging to See for Years

2026 may be the time for The Legend of Zelda to finally release some of the franchise’s most long-requested ports for the Nintendo Switch.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player’s Incredible UFO for Cruising Around Hyrule

One of these designs was recently showcased on Reddit by AngusPJ. Specifically, the player created a machine that looked like a UFO, and the result was impressive. The UFO featured a disc-shaped design and included bright conical-shaped lights on the corners to help sell the extraterrestrial vibe. Additionally, the build had a beam of light that projected from the base, looking similar to a sci-fi tractor beam. In the shared video, Link could be seen piloting the UFO through the open world of Tears of the Kingdom.

This extraterrestrial design has caught the eye of Reddit users in the Hyrule Engineering community. The post already has hundreds of upvotes, with players discussing the design in the comments. For example, one user asked whether the UFO had unlimited fuel, to which AngusPJ replied that it did, thanks to the use of a Juney Engine. In addition, the creator revealed that the machine could move at around 85–90 km/h, meaning it was not very fast. Nevertheless, many players enjoyed how the project turned out.

Gamers Continue to Create Impressive Machines in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nearly 3 Years Later

This build is a reminder of what is possible in Tears of the Kingdom thanks to its building mechanics. While players can get by building basic contraptions in most parts of the story, many creative builders have taken things to the next level. Over the last few years, the community has come up with various methods to improve build quality through glitches, such as the Juney Engine. Besides this eye-catching UFO, many other creations have recently been shared on Reddit. For instance, one player created a recreation of the Flying Dutchman pirate ship in Tears of the Kingdom. The massive machine included convincing-looking sails and could fly through the air, similar to AngusPJ’s UFO.

It remains to be seen what other creations are made by skilled Tears of the Kingdom players in the months ahead. The Hyrule Engineering subreddit shows no signs of slowing down, as more build posts are added each day. While a new 3D Zelda game could come to the Switch 2 in the next few years, it remains to be seen if it will have similar building mechanics to those in Tears of the Kingdom. It is worth mentioning that a leak suggested that the next Zelda game might have cross-dimensional features, but nothing has been confirmed by Nintendo at this point.

Fortunately, Tears of the Kingdom, along with Breath of the Wild, received Nintendo Switch 2 Editions coinciding with the launch of the new hybrid console. These upgraded versions included improved frame rates and resolutions and featured integration with the new Zelda Notes app. Among the highlights, the app added autobuild sharing via QR codes, letting players share their creations with others. Hopefully, these features will keep players busy until more news about the next 3D Zelda game is revealed.
