Zenless Zone Zero Reveals Two New Characters for Version 3.1

Zenless Zone Zero has revealed two brand-new characters, Remielle Dan and Sigrid, who will join the playable roster during the Version 3.1 update. The patch will be Zenless Zone Zero‘s first new update following the release of Roscaelifer.

The urban action RPG from HoYoverse recently welcomed the debut of its biggest update of the year, adding a brand-new district to New Eridu. The Version 3.0 update brought players to Roscaelifer, a restricted zone that is off-limits to most civilians within the city. The patch officially kicked off Season 3 of the game’s main story, also adding three characters to the roster with the debut of Norma and Velina as new S-Rank characters, alongside Pyrois as a “combat avatar” for Belle and Wise. Now, HoYoverse is teasing even more playable units set to arrive in the game’s next patch.

Zenless Zone Zero Reveals Remielle and Sigrid

Zenless Zone Zero officially unveiled Version 3.1’s new S-Rank characters through the game’s social media channels. Remielle Dan is expected to debut as the first new character of Version 3.1, becoming the third playable member of Zenless Zone Zero‘s Void Hunters. Remielle is expected to add a special new elemental variant to the game based on the Wind attribute, similar to the unique elements given to fellow Void Hunters Miyabi, Yixuan, and Ye Shunguang. Sigrid is confirmed to be joining the roster as an Ice Attack character from Roscaelifer’s Airspace Patrol Department. Zenless Zone Zero‘s Version 3.1 is currently expected to release on July 29.

HoYoverse’s marketing for Zenless Zone Zero‘s new characters has already raised several questions from fans. The reveal posts for Remielle Dan and Sigrid were shared unusually close to one another, with only two hours separating the “drip marketing” for the characters. HoYoverse typically spaces out its marketing for new characters on different days, revealing the new units in order of their appearance on the gacha banners. Players have even speculated that the banners for the pair may run at the same time, similar to the Version 1.4 update, which featured coinciding banners for S-Rank characters Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa that were available for the full duration of the patch.

Alongside the release of Remielle Dan and Sigrid, Version 3.1 will likely mark another major milestone for the HoYoverse RPG. Zenless Zone Zero will officially celebrate its second anniversary on July 4, with the game’s official celebrations expected to arrive in the following update. The first anniversary celebrations in Version 2.1 rewarded players with everything from a plethora of Polychromes to a free standard S-Rank character and S-Rank W-Engine. HoYoverse has not officially confirmed any of its specific plans for Zenless Zone Zero‘s second anniversary.

Zenless Zone Zero is expected to offer plenty for fans throughout the RPG’s Season 3 as well. The lead-up to the addition of Roscaelifer teased multiple characters releasing throughout Zenless Zone Zero‘s Season 3, including Severian, The Storyteller, and Sunbringer, among several others. HoYoverse also pushed a plethora of quality-of-life updates with the launch of Version 3.0, including helpful adjustments to Quality Time and Trust Events, a new redeemable item granting A-Rank W-Engines in the in-game shop, and more. Zenless Zone Zero continues to grow and evolve with each passing update bringing more exciting new content.
