Three years ago this month, Dead Island 2 arrived on PC and consoles. And while it has some flaws, including some really annoying boss fights, Dead Island 2 is a fantastically fun, over-the-top, and satisfying semi-open-world zombie RPG. And it’s only $5 on Steam right now, which is a damn good deal.
To celebrate the three-year anniversary of Dead Island 2‘s launch, publisher Deep Silver has discounted Dead Island 2 and all of its DLC, plus the rest of the zombie killin’ franchise, by quite a bit on Valve’s PC gaming storefront. You can get both Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide for less than $5. And as for the other Dead Island spin-offs…avoid those like the plague.
But the real star of the ongoing Dead Island sale is Dead Island 2 for $5. That’s just a heck of a good deal for a gorgeous-looking zombie RPG set in sunny L.A. that will take most players around 15 to 20 hours to complete. And that’s if you just focus on the main campaign. Dig into the highly detailed areas in Dead Island 2‘s virtual Los Angeles, and you’ll easily be able to spend far more hours swinging pipes and axes at zombies, either alone or with a friend in co-op.
Don’t wait too long to grab Dead Island 2 for cheap, as the deal ends on April 27.
And if you have a few extra bucks to spare, you can spend $7 to get Dead Island 2 with all the DLC as well, an even better deal that includes two new expansions to slaughter your way through. This deal also ends on April 27.
Good times. I already own and played Dead Island 2 on Xbox, but I’m likely to buy it again on PC so I can push the graphics sliders up and invite a pal to kill zombies all over again in L.A. What can I say? It just feels really good to slice the undead with a flaming sword in Dead Island 2.
