Pokemon Fan Shares Futuristic Paradox Magneton Inspired By Atoms

A talented Pokemon fan has created a futuristic Paradox form for Magneton inspired by physics models and the atom. The unique concept has drawn a lot of attention from the fandom, with many agreeing that it looks like it would fit perfectly in an actual Pokemon game.

Ever since Paradox Pokemon were introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans have been coming up with interesting concepts for them. Paradox Pokemon are traditionally rooted in either the ancient past or the far future, giving existing Pokemon some unique makeovers in the process. However, since there only 24 Paradox Pokemon to date, there’s plenty of room for players to come up with their own creative ideas and to share them online.

Pokemon Fan Art Imagines Hoenn Starters With Their Types Swapped

A creative Gen 3 enthusiast from the Pokemon community reimagines what Hoenn’s iconic starter Pokemon would look like if they swapped types.

Pokemon Fan Shares Futuristic Paradox Magneton

Pokemon fan artist HertzBurst has shared a new design in which they gave Magneton a future Paradox form. The futuristic Paradox Pokemon is called Iron Atom, and is both Steel and Psychic, switching up Magneton’s usual typing from Electric and Steel. Like many other Paradox Pokemon, while this version is different than the base form, it’s easily recognizable. Iron Atom maintains the three core spherical bodies, but their eyes look like they’ve been replaced by digital displays. Instead of magnets adhered to the sides of the Pokemon, they are instead surrounded by atom rings. According to the artist, the design was inspired by the real world’s Bohr model of the atom, while the Pokedex entry indicates that it’s similar to a futuristic fusion model shown in a paranormal magazine.

In addition to a realistic-looking Pokedex entry, HertzBurst has also included a few extra renders, including one showing what it would look like in-game, and another drawn in the more traditional 2D art style of the games’ concept art. The end result is a design that many fans have praised, not only for the creativity of mashing together Pokemon with real-world physics concepts, but also for how well they fit in with the aesthetic of the real games. Some fans said that they would have preferred the design of Iron Atom over what Magnezone looks like. Another fan suggested an alternate good name for the Pokemon, calling it “Magnatom,” mashing together the original Pokemon’s name and “atom.”

Outside of HertzBurst’s creative take on combining real science with Magneton’s normal design, another fan looked to sci-fi for inspiration, instead. A fan called Wiinterfang shared their idea for what Mega Magneton and Mega Magnezone could look like, with Magnezone’s Mega Evolution strongly resembling the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek. While that design might seem a little more outlandish at face value, it’s not that hard to imagine either the more science-rooted Paradox Magneton or the sci-fi-themed Mega Magnezone being in an actual Pokemon game.

As the Pokemon franchise has introduced a lot of different forms and unique kinds of evolutions for Pokemon, not every game introduces new entries under each category. For example, there were no new Mega Evolutions in a mainline Pokemon game until Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s release in 2025, and the return delighted players. Meanwhile, aside from Paradox Pokemon, there are also Gigantamax forms, Regional Pokemon, Terastallized Pokemon, and even some fusions. With very little known about Pokemon Winds and Waves thus far, it’s not clear if the game will bring back any of these with new additions, or move on to something else entirely. Even without a new game bringing in new takes on existing creatures, though, fans will keep creating clever ideas all their own.
