Folks, we’ve finally reached a bit of a lull in the spring game release calendar. While the second half of May is packed with Subnautica 2, Forza Horizon 6, Lego Batman, 007 First Light, and some other heavy-hitters, this week offers a brief respite before the onslaught.
The most notable game coming out is probably Mixtape, a new narrative adventure from publisher Annapurna Interactive. We’ll have a review for you on that later this week. In the meantime, take note of two other releases this week that you probably haven’t heard of before.
The first is Motorslice, an atmospheric anime action game about a blue-haired woman who fights construction equipment with a chainsaw sword. Thanks to some cool trailers and clever marketing, it spent the last year rocketing up the Steam wishlist charts. The second is Wax Heads, a cozy-punk narrative sim where you work in a record store, argue about music, and help customers with their drama. It’s 2024 demo was pretty well received.
